    Yip lots of interesting games. Well the list doesn’t include any 2012 results and the DHS team has only played twice.
    The beat Development 60-0 and Transvalia 17-5 in what was apparently a scrappy game. When DHS played Port Natal the U15A DHS team didn’t play, they let the DHS U15B team play Port Natal A which DHS comfortably won 26-0.

    What an awesome season its going to be! :mrgreen:

    Who’s WBHS playing on the 20th? Maybe you can swing by at College and watch some good rugby vs DHS?

    @ BWS- I enjoyed the improved phase play which unlocked the defence and allowed the talented backs and loose forwards to flourish.
    @ Pedantic- Yes there was a cricket tour which took out 5 players. Also the SA sprinter is not playing rugby any more and both 1st choice A team wings have been unavailable. If you add the 3 players that have left then the best B team in KZN last year came up a little short against Hilton.( but ” they will be back”). You are so right about progression.I overheard the Hilton coach comment on how much they(Westville U16A) have improved since Hilton played them.
    @Horsy- Interesting to see that DHS U15A is ranked 4th in KZN per that link you posted. Early days though and I am sure that School will end the season on top. Lots of interesting games to enjoy though. :mrgreen:

    @GreenBlooded:
    They should. Them not playing each other is not their fault. If they go unbeaten in KZN then they deserve to hold those tags.they shouldn’t be punished forr the actions of the two Trevors.

    @Pedantic
    Well I’m sure the KZN selectors will be very happy to hear all that.more talent for them to pick from. I will only be able too see them on the 27th when they play DHS. Then I’ll be able to see and judge. They’ll also do well not to underestimate this School side. They’ve lost quite a few players to other sports etc but they seem to have improved this year, playing with a certain confidence.

    @HORSEFLY NO.1: From what I’ve observed since Under 14 this Westville U16 team has really progressed – they seem to have a lot of all rounders in the squad so I guess difficult to pinpoint positions for these guys.

    They seem to have found a good balance now with the weakness at halfback which could be found out against stronger opposition. I think if the opposition hammers the flyhalf channel their great backs will be nullified. Food for thought … :)

    Did the B team not lose to Hilton? Their 1st loss in a while? What happened here?

    Well I’m happy for you if your team has improved. I still remember their U14 game vs DHS and was surprised at how small the Westville boys were. DHS lost on the day but deserved to win so if WBHS has improved and grown since then then a huge well done!

    Think your big game will be against College as Northwood have gone down from last year unfortunately

    i think that it would be a tight game this year if they did play . this was always going to be a team that developed from a raw , small U14 team to be a good U16 team . Hilton, was first game of the season , a bit of nerves showed in them conceding an early try, but Hilton never really looked like scoring any points thereafter . Boys have grown and matured and have some good , exciting players is key positions . Depth , if injuries do occur , is also vital and fortunately have some strong boys on the fringes . All games will be tough , i agree , but as i said a well rounded , balanced team !

    WBHS U16 backline looked the best in the tournament .Their combinations looked spot on with strong running from Wheeler on the wing and great forward ball from a good pack sets up quick ball for the backline to attack from . Strydom at 12 has great hands and timing which sets up the 13 to break the advantage line . Couch at 15 linked well and Kitching at scrum half had some probing boxkicks into space as well as good ball to the backline . Loosies had some great breaks with Bell almost scoring a try after some twinkle toes and showing a turn of pace . Smit kicked a 50m penalty with the ball dropping on the crossbar and going over !! I think that this team is going to take some beating this season as they are well balanced on attack and defense , have some great individual talent but more importantly play as a team !! Great coaching structure who bring out the best in their players . Well done on great results !

    @HORSEFLY NO.1: Woltui confirmed that my comparison with bussing in the US is correct. To ensure that all the schools in the USA, reflected the demographics after segregation, they “bussed” kids from previously “black” schools to “white” schools for years and high costs. It partly explains why America has debt of $16 Trillon and why SA is trying so hard to catch up.@Woltrui: Hidings? Perhaps I missed some results? Hentie Cilliers(small school) beat Eldoraign 22-20, JF vsKemton Park 30-20 and then of course the well documented historic recording of 32-4 matches over decades. Thats not a hiding- its complete domination. On that note, have a good day next to the polluted Jukskei River :lol:

    The kids being hosted is from previous disadvantaged communities. All to do with the Quotas.
    I doubt if there is any relocated kids in the 0/14 Menlo team.
    Most school boy rugby lovers in Pretoria don’t appreciate this “buying” of school players by the BB’s, from other provinces

    Menlo Park is just a little known school in Pretoria with pretty much no achievements in sport apart from winning the yearly Pretoria athletics meet (Jacaranda Prestige Inter High Athletics) for twelve years running, The girls winning it 17 out 18 times. They are the current Wildeklawer Netball champs, were the winners of the 2010 National Pro20 cricket, plays host to Ryk Neethling Academy, has a 50m heated swimmingpool (1 of two in SA). Their headmaster is brother to Jan van der Merwe who was Known as Professor Proefbuisbaba, He was responsible for SA’s first two test-tube babies, as well as the first test tube twins.

    Early indications show Glenwood,DHS,College and Hilton to have the best U14 teams this year. Glenwood squad has some pretty big boys, one of their boys is surely 190cm+ at the moment!
    DHS squad playing some good rugby, raking up the big scores right now. They too have a couple of big boys!

    U15 seems a little open and I think everyone is waiting to see how the DHS team can react to the passing of one of their team-mates who was probably their chief try scorer. If they play to the same intensity and ability as last year they will demolish opponents! Good to see that a couple of them have filled out a bit there. The College side seems to be doing well and if they’ve thrown away that inconsistency they had last year then come the 20th they’ll be a huge threat and will surely bring up the mark that won the game for DHS last year ! Glenwood are the benchmark at the moment though.

    I have to say that after being at the 1stday of Bizsport it was flattering to hear the Glenwood U14 and U15 boys talking about the DHS teams in that manner. They are convinced that they are what stands between Glenwood and an unbeaten status
