    Two epic matches at kearsney tomorrow: Grey College / Outeniqua and Glenwood / Paarl Gym will be a spectacle of note. Craig Joubert will ref the Glenwood / Gimmies match.

    @Griffon: @Sir Pius: Agree with both of you – De La Rey is outstanding, leads by example and together with McHardy seem to be the only two who pitch up to play rugby. Most of the others seems to have accepted defeat before they take the field. Let’s hope they can lift it for the Framesbby game. It must be said that Framesby were a lot better yesterday – Grey College centainly did not have things all their own way. 79-12 against in 2 matches is not a good tally!!

    Andre de la Rey always gives 110%, but someone needs to support him. Rugby is a game where all 15 players have to get involved. You can’t afford to be carrying passengers. I rate Buthelezi as a fullback, one day he’ll be in the same class as Morne Joubert and Chris Lines.

    McHardy also produced a good game as always, broke the line a few times, and defended well.

    @ Sir Pius : I’d say a few Westville players didn’t look intent on playing, and had no heart. A few were working hard like the Captain, Majola, Weir and Braithwaite just to name a few. What impressed me was the workrate of last years u16A fullback who was on the wing. He was working hard on defense, stole a few balls, and given a metre of space he would make as much ground as possible. I do think he would do way better if he was at fullback. Bright prospect for the future

    @GreenBlooded:
    Very nice of them to show respect like that. Was apparently quite a touching moment @Glenwood at 11am this morning when they did the same.

    As for Westville, think they just aren’t clicking and are missing something right now. Glenwood would have given them this year. This Glenwood team is one that I rate quite a bit and they can beat many teams. Its just belief that’ll be necessary.

    College mustnt be forgotten though. They seem to have a lot of heart this year not mentioning the talent. I rate Khatide,Goodson,Coetzee for KZN colours from them!

    @HORSEFLY NO.1: Eish – after the Westville game today I would have said you were way off. They played better today – although they still have a long way to go to be convincing at this level. But then along came the Green Machine and blew my socks off – the beat Selbourne convincingly with some great tries being run in. So nice to see them return to winning ways.

    You would have been pleased to note that every game today was preceeded by the teams and match officials observing a minutes silence out of respect for Madoda.

    It’s really sad. Conceding 89 points in 2 games at first team level is just not on. Let’s hope that the boys will bounce back on Monday against Framesby.

    @Green Hopper: Not sure about that – I don’t pay as a match official (and get chow in the VIP tent :mrgreen: ). I was there from 7:30 until after the last game yesterday – to be charged R50 for what I witnessed in those 9 or so hours must be the bargain of the decade.

    @Grasshopper: Looking at the article on pack sizes, Matt Jackson is not the only kid of that size. Both of the Outeniqua props listed are as big or bigger.
    I am not sure that Matt will even start for Westville as he had been injured and only played in the 3rds against Hilton. I know he toured last weekend but I am not sure if he played 1sts as the 2nd team was on tour with them. He might have to start against Outeniqua simply to help counter the size of their front row.
    Looking at the pack sizes that are listed there are a couple of really big locks at the tournament as well.

    The gap between heavy and light. Jackson at 128kg, Human at 65kg. That is just more than 1/2 the size. I reckon Dewald is about the size of Matt Jackson’s leg.

    Wow, Matt Jackson from Westville aint a small boy, is he the heaviest in the tourno? Also, I see both Du Preez brother’s have put on close to 10kg’s since last season but have shifted to loose forward, surely that extra weight will slow them more so they should both be locking instead….
