Port Natal has one final hurdle to clear in order to complete a dream Damelin Night Series. After a less than convincing start against Pinetown, the hosts got their act together with a resounding victory over Port Shepstone followed by the scalps of tournament big guns George Campbell and Northwood before completing their table topping unbeaten run with a win against Durban Development. Their opponents in tonight’s final will be Northwood who are yet to produce a fully convincing performance, although they did get by Campbell and only lost out to Porties by one point in the round robin games.
Pre-tournament favourites the Glenwood Invitation XV are tipped to claim the 2nd XV competition award, having also gone unbeaten in the DNS so far. They face George Campbell in their final earlier in the evening.
All the other teams involved in this year’s successful night series will playoff for places in the lead up to the two finals.
