One of the things Hoërskool Waterkloof in Pretoria may urgently consider doing is updating their school rugby recruitment policy contained in their publicly available and downloadable via a D6 Communicator document about Waterkloof- Rugby Policy Document re Training & Development. During 2017 reference was made to this document in a rugby slide show which is also viewable via the school’s D6 Communicator pages.

suggesting they endorse recruiting rugby players all the way up until Grade-11 but not for matric. This wording contradicts the action and reasons given by Waterkloof’s management body for suspending it’s rugby relationship with Pretoria neighbours Garsfontein.
Measured in terms of available Saturdays, the Virsekerbeker Macro schools business end of the season is not too far off now. One of the interesting developments is bound to be whether or not Waterkloof agrees to play Garfontein should the two schools cross paths at any age-group level in the Virseker playoffs. It’s also not entirely clear what pressures will be placed on Waterkloof to commit to the Virsekerbeker and how pleased the Bulls Macro-B league schools are with an arrangement that would allow Waterkloof passage into the knockout stage without fulfilling all it’s qualifying league match obligations. In 2016 Waterkloof made the decision to break rugby ties with Garsfontein and went on to make their reasons pretty clear in the letter below which amongst other things mentions that Klofies no longer indulges in the unacceptable and unethical practice of “buying” players from other schools:
