@Bush: Safari one is Helpies. They will give you full school uniform and sports kit if u can arrange a rugby game for  them in KZN. I hear the Helpie rugby players each carry n standard sleeping bag and ratpack with them and the scoolbus at the gate ready to leave for any kind rugby venue where they can get some playing time.

@Hooit: Only if you get me the Safari one???. There were some very good Flanks on display yesterday. I think Greenman’s boy is in the right position during the trials. He was one of the locks mixing it up well yesterday and if you need an extra Loosie you have him on board.

@Speartackle: I’m actually staying there this weekend. When does the comp start? If it’s during the week it’s a problem as I’m busy making wors for the Monnas game.

@Bush: Now n cap and jersey? Why not the whole uniform? I will hand over the cap only if you attend.
@McCulleys Workshop: I 100% agree. Think he enjoys being loose but he is good in both position. I am sure his prop days are over.

He is the line out man even in the other position he played. He is on fire and as Bush pointed out not even water can put that out! Hope all goes well at trials.

So I will get to see my favourite player RK play. I promise not to be biased. I think I will wear the Monnas Jersey that Spear gave me. It has quite a few lipstick smears on it. I will be undercover as it’s raining here.

@BrotherBear: Really. There are 163 players at the trials! What for if they are not counted. The rest is the politics which is there every year. I am not in the know and also don’t know anybody in the know and also not interested. Let the trials do the talking. Maybe McCulleys, Bush and Spear has got a better idea of who is who down under.

@Hooit: you have obviously never enjoyed the true culinary ecstasy associated with a Helpmekaar braai. You would then know that dependent on the wors thickness and where procured (spice and feed to animals dependent), different types of wood are used. Does not matter where in country at that stage, we import our own wood.
NB we are also not backward and use a braai grill above the wood – so we braai on a braai-grill. Some times, when bundu bashing, we just build a fire on a flat piece of rock. After a while we scrape the coals off and braai the wors on the hot rock.
You must really try and join us some time. See you only friends with some – it hurts the feelings.

@Bush: As my SBR is almost over I can share these secrets now. Helpies always complained about favouritism and selectirs being unfair. Monnas braai wors on wood. Helpies uses gas. Big difference. Start a decent school rugby boy wors braai academy with all the silverspooners and more of them will represent the Sharks in the future.

@Bush: Do not agree. Glenwood should be treated better. Mist of their boys are Afrikaans and can braai lekker wors. Do you want n team full of tea and scone players or beer and braaivleis kuiers.?

@BrotherBear: “do the other school teams get the same opportunities and exposure?” the correct answer to your question is a big fat NO. If I was OCE and RK parents and if they didn’t make the CW side I would withdraw them. They deserve to be in the CW side. RK is SA Schools easy.

Well looks like the new Hilton rugby philosophy is paying off. A win against Westville as well now and some serious star players it seems. Clear what big money can do!

@Gungets Tuft: Richardson a huge loss for Kearsney as well as KZN teams. Bummer in matric year, but now he can focus on academics.

@Greenman: you welcome to comment on the Lion trials and teams. Tad touchy this early in process, what not? No issue to give deserving kids an opportunity, but it does beg the question: “do the other school teams get the same opportunities and exposure?”
Quite a luxury to be having trials in school time.

@McCulleys Workshop: There is no ways I would ever consider Knox and Ollie for AW. They are CW caliber players. I think rugby should do what they do with cricket. Have KZN Inland. Midlands and Pmb area will get a decent look at then. Knox has been the best Tight Head I’ve seen around. I have not just been to the House games.

@Bush: Rocky and Ollie are the only two House players I’d expect to see in CW / AW, however it’s quite possible that they won’t make it, they are the wrong color. They need to be Green to get into the side. That being said both Hilton locks as well as one of the DHS locks could make CW/AW.

@warriors7: The Kearsney 7 and the Hilton 6 (Warren) and 7 (Venter) are great players. Surprised to see Hilton 9 not here, he’s the best 9 Ive seen this season in KZN.

If Richardson is injured I’d have Buthelezi at 8 with Dylan Kruger and Mchunu on the flanks

So the CW side will really come out of the Chiefs and Blues. Strange that the selectors don’t rate Knox from House. Price is not even an itch on the selectors BB. Any way good luck to all the boys involved. Moral of the story go to GW if you want to make CW. Maybe it will be DHS in time come.
