Even without star flyhalf Chris Schreuder in the Grey College starting line-up for Saturday’s home match against Waterkloof, the “les bleus” backline looks like it has the ability to test and pass the defensive capability of the strongest wall any opponent puts up in an effort to halt them. Rikus Pretorius and Janco van Heyningen start the season as the No.1 rated centre combination in the country. Both have already represented SA at u18 level in 2016 and are recently capped u18 Sevens internationals. Powerful wing Henk Cilliers who also earned his SA Sevens call up, has been likened to former Province wing Niel Burger, meaning he will be a hard player to stop. Tall fullback David Kriel is another exciting player expected to grab a fair bit of attention and positive assessments this season. His younger brother Richard is on the left wing.
