Here’s a 1st attempt at listing where the schoolboy rugby players of 2016 might end up plying their trade next year.
There are probably a number of corrections to make so all help would be welcomed.

Beet Abner is home in Paarl HJS. So that will be HJS and WP not Garsies and Bulls.
Austin Davids (49 on list) from Garsfontein signed a contract with Lions and not Bulls in 2017.
@Bungee: Thank you.
Thanks for all the help that’s been coming in. Still more data to collect but I’ve updated the list in the meantime
@odie15: We have some decent young coaches in the school & school provincial set-up & a couple of dedicated & diligent guys involved in the Jnr pro & HP system, but that’s about it
@Playa: Well meaning and innovative are not traits that I look for on a coaching CV, often just euphemisms for inexperienced and for the most part directionless. Apart from the administration which is rudderless, gutless & clueless, I attribute a large portion of the problems in WP to the fact that the current coaching staff & vogue players have a distinct Southern flavour. Add in a liberal sprinkling of players that hail from so-called smaller schools like Ermelo, Montague and Milnerton and you have a recipe for a monumental stuff up. The general lack of balls and commitment on field is a reflection on the overblown pussies in the coaches boxes, a habit of never performing on the big stage and a mental block from most getting their heads stuffed up their butts for 5 years at school
@odie15: I beg to differ. There’s a lot of well meaning and innovative coaches…the management is the poison. The rot in management defeats science…it goes from the tail to the head.
@Ploegskaar: the coaching staff @ all levels in WP is poison….the management @ Newlands is toxic waste that consumes money and is clueless. There’s no way you can keep all talent. But keeping key players and building with good coaching is issue. The same with SA schools players who progress to JWC. We see that on talent alone they compete against and beat a English team that’s been together a year after a mere week together as a unit.
Jaco van Tonder SA A lock from GC has signed a 1 year contract with Clermont in France. Going to stay with Flip v/d Merwe for the first 3 month. Really hope things work out for him
@Wonder: Glo Ryno sal selfde as Papier wees die jaar.
@Rugbyman: Gaan Ryno vir Garsies speel volgende jaar ?
Hierdie uitslae staaf dus my punt, uiteindelik.
@Scrum5: Enjoy your moment, and we will see about those stars next year. Looking forward to the challenge ???
@Muzi does not matter anymore who goes where. After yesterday the Lions showed they can develop players that can beat any team with names !!The only difference is that in 2017 the Lions will have a lot of the big names coming to play for them in the u/19 Currie Cup competition !
Anton Du Toit…undecided?!?!
Ryno Pieterse has a contract with the bulls and so does Embrose Papier…
@Cappie:
@Speartackle: Ja, hy is ‘n bouler.
Neil Wagner
@Cappie: Ek dog hy is n bouler
Daai mannetjie is ‘n aanwins vir enige span. Springbok in opbou!
Wian van Zyl signed for WP. Spoke to him personally. The France thing fell through in January already.
Hoor daar is gerugte dat Ryno Pieterse skool wil verlaat
@Wonder: Thanks Wonder. I need to tidy up the list. There is actually a fairly high number of good quality u18 players who will be back at school again next year.
@Muzi: He will be u19 next year, can’t play CW or Tuks reeks. I hope he has a contract with the Bulls. Rugbyman may know ?
PJ Steenkamp signed for the lions…..
@Wonder: ..he played for the Bulls Under 19’s this year surely he has a contract with the Bulls after 2017?!?
Ryno Pieterse is die jaar in graad 11
@Muzi: Muller du Plessis is u17 still
Johan Du Toit?!?!…Du Plessis the blitz wing from Paarl Gym?!?!?
