Dankie @Ooorkant Loftus.
@Brotherbear, dankie vir die info.
Vat maar n ou baadjie of so iets saam.
@Ooorkant Loftus:
Groot skole 1e spanne speel Saterdag
Lichtenburg vs Vereeniging Gim
Ligbron vs Helpmekaar
Albei games in eersgenoemde se tuisdorp (Ligbron in Ermelo)
@MikeSt baie dankie vir die inligting. Sterkte ook vir julle.
@Ooorkant Loftus:
Saterdag EGJ vs Waterkloof by Waterkloof
Dinsdag Monnas vs Garsies by Monnas

@ Jakes , @Brother Bear , @Rugbyman
@Gungets Tuft: hahahah
@BuffelsCM: Stem saam.
@Playa: Only switched on when the score was 27-0.They then seemed to run out of steam.Agree with you that he was good.
@Gungets Tuft: Hahaha he’s been using his silver spoon and that same shad keeps biting. The life of the invincible Shad.
@GreenBlooded: I dunno mon, if it was me I’d probably sit down with a beer and wait for the fish to swim back. In the meantime I’d save bait and just use a spoon …
Especially if the fish habitually come back
@GreenBlooded: Some goes home while others will find another spot hoping to catch the same fish. They determined and just keep at it
@Veg: They have finished strongly indeed.But I’m sure they’re happy to be done with the season.The Dale and Grey games took a lot out of them.I was hugely impresed with David Coetser.
Selborne really woke up in the second half of the season.
@BuffelsCM: Sulke wedstryde is belaglik en heel moontlik gevaarlik. So much vir Boksmart.
O/16 A ook 100 punte aangeteken.
@GreenBlooded: great analogy, I’ll take it on board ?
@Greenman:
I was down in Amanzimtoti the other day. It was quite early and there was a bamboo plantation of fishermen on the beach reeling in fish like crazy. I sat for a while and watched them. As long as the fish were biting, the fishermen kept throwing bait in the water and reeling them in.
Then a funny thing happened. The fish suddenly went off the bite. The fishermen realised that throwing more bait into the water would just be a waste of time, energy and bait. So they packed up their fishing gear and went home. Or maybe to find another spot where the fish were biting.
@Grasshopper: precisely. And you know what. The kids are laughing at us when they read the sh@$$t we talk here. Wonder sometimes who is the kids. All they want to do is play rugby against the best. Some however would like to punish them as much they can. Thats their kick! Maybe we should not decide for them.
@Greenman: played 18, won 15, lost 3 isnt a bad season. Well done boys! 2017 here we come…
@Djou:
You mean 5 players missing and not 4? ??
@Stier: you right about Sanix then. Then agsin, you did go there twice already and walked it, didnt you. Or was it just a fact finding mission? I hope that we can now put this to rest. Trophy in the cupboard and proud of it.
@boerboel: you such bonehead, you would never be as brave as you are on here in person. Bonehead deluxe! Absolutely clueless….
And please g fixation – get a english fattie to fixate on
@Grasshopper: yip do a victory lap. Only lost by 29 points. ???
@Djou: yes we were lucky! Luckily enough there is no comments column so in 20 years it will say 10-39. Glenwood had JJ out who makes a difference for us. I thought all the A sides did well, no blowouts and the U14a won!
@Grasshopper: Be glad Grey did not play with a full strength side. The 4 boys at the SA Schools make a huge difference.
That is no help, thanks anyway.
@Stier: I have no clue…..
@Djou: Ja iets is nie lekker daar by my span nie. Hulle sorg darem dat ek nou weer my gras sny.
Grass are you guys getting new coaching staff next year?
@Stier: What do you mean eina, 39-10 isn’t too bad. We have lost by 80 plus to Grey previously. We certainly didn’t expect to win it. I am just happy we kept it below 50 and our 2nd’s improved drastically to draw 26-26. Glenwood never claimed to be 6th, that is was the ranking people said. Top 20 for sure, maybe around 15th would be fair.
So, apart from the Bulls u.19’s who beat the Cheetahs 40-19, their star studded u.21’s lost 20-26 and their Currie Cup team was humiliated. Now, does it really help to pour all that money into the junior teams? They should maybe consider spending less on juniors and rather keep the good senior players.
Boland was weer reg vir rugby.
Glenwood eina, again! Monnas, Affies and Grey just shows that the 6 ranking is totally crazy, top ten don’t even make sence anymore. SANIX is nice but doesn’t mean much as far as showing how good a team is.
Baie geluk!!
EG Jansen 71- Menlopark 28
Things not looking good at Menlopark
..
@jakes: sjoe… bietjie arrogant dink ek… klink so bietjie jake whiterig….
Warriors7- Well the EG Jansen team sounds very confident that Menlopark can not match them upfront and ready by the sound of it.
http://schools.sarugbymag.co.za/menlopark-wont-contain-us/
@boerboel: Glenwood 1st hockey beat Grey Bloem 2-1….
@BoishaaiPa: 91 side Justin Swart and co that beat Grey?
@boerboel: Nope, about 10 extra-mural activities including chess. 45 is easy to offer if you consider individual type sports like BMX etc…..think hard now I know it’s tough when you suffer from OGHD, Obsessive Glenwood Hating Disorder
@knowthegame: It’s getting old now….in Durban. So work that one out for yourself.
@boerboel: sorry not so up to date with GW.Is this match played at altitude?
i presume they are competing in all 45 sports?
@Grasshopper: @Grasshopper: nope-do not like watching massacres-this fixture should be cancelled
Bloggers interested in Grey vs Glenwood, well put together; https://issuu.com/tiemedia/docs/glenwood_high_vs_grey_college_-_int
@GreenBlooded: All of them will be televised. 201
@BoishaaiPa:
Any of it televised?
@BoishaaiPa: Dankie my ou mater

Good luck to all the Glenwood & Grey teams this weekend. Safe travels there & back too. Hoping Glenwood can put up some resistance & play to their capabilities ?
@odie15: @BoishaaiPa:
@Playa: Verifiable events or a preponderance of probabilities = facts, not alcohol induced exclamations or groanings .
@BoishaaiPa: Hahaha! He calls them REAL true facts. Hopper the Englishmen would say that’s tautology.
@BOG: Thorn bush AKA Umga…I am still to see a better fire maker. That’s why we’re as thick as rubber down in Frontier Country
@BoishaaiPa: they were strong for a decade from 86 to 95 Boishaai only 3 wins
@BoishaaiPa: 86-90. 87 as I said before sot year…. half the decade….but only 1 loss to GIM in 89 so rough smooth…
@Playa: Mine are REAL true facts, not fabrications. Im just wondering if that match will be continued to be discussed until next year. And while Im on it, tell @BrotherBear: that he obviously has never braaid with Eastern Cape thorn wood. The problem is that in the “Transvaal”, they use it as garden plants.
@Playa: No, You are confusing opinionated ideas with presenting facts!…
@BoishaaiPa: I thought presenting facts was Oom BOG’s duty?
@odie15: Then you were a cross-over from 80’s to 90’s and must stipulate it as such!…remember that I look at things from a factual point !
@Valkie: My laaitie is soos n teddy beer.
@BuffelsCM: they already dont do much while preparing for interschools another 3 weeks on whole term gone…
@BoishaaiPa: so if we won 1 out of 5 in my time there isnt my memory good enough?
@BrotherBear: It all depends. Saterday is planned with lots of time so it will be lots of wood frequently. Will see what is in stock. Only use briquets if the braai was planned for a specific time and with all the distractions, darts, pool, rugby, Ricky Louw etc you see you going to miss the time and the wife gives you that silent stare when you tell her. The stare alone can get the meat done in 5 minutes so if you get it you do what you have to do. But once Ricky and myself becomes one then I am not afraid of the stare. That usually causes some kind of headache the next morning.
@Hooit: @BrotherBear: Briquettes is the worst of then all!! I refuse to place my meat on a braai grill if fire was made with that ugly stuff, it also releases plenty of unwanted chemicals. I’ll rather eat the meat raw.
So ek hoop ons het ‘n houtvuur Saterdag. Love Sekelbos, love the smell of the burning wood.
@Hooit: As jou laatie my klein seuntjie gaan seermaak gaan ek verseker jou tjoppie brand, so jy beter mooi praat met Kwagga….
@BrotherBear: agree on that. Did you see old Graeme ‘Biff’ Smith launching some kak lumpwood stuff in London…..jeepers dude you could have gone into any sector and he chose lumpwood…
@Toffee: Thanks.Ill catch you at Wynberg.Will dash there as soon as the final whistle blows at Piley.
@Hooit: just don’t tell me you are a “briquet boy”. Braaivleis without at least one of the following woods do not count (unless well explained).
1. Sekelbos
2. Hardekool
3. Kameeldoring
4. Bosveld doringhout – few variants
5. Rooikrans (met die dik pit)
@Hooit: it all depends how khaki you want the shorts to be ;-) Mike was there in shorts, but then he is from the east. Pta pappies attended in the traditional unspectacular “two-tone” shirts. One pappie kept his sunglasses on the whole night – methinks the mommy was unhappy about something and gave him something to remember.
@BrotherBear: I always have an open invitation for a braai. If there was no Deep Wesrander at the kearsney braai then it wasnt a braai but merely a meat tanning get together. So in other words was there somebody in khaki shorts at the braai or was it not n braai?
@BoishaaiPa: amazing how close most of those games are, nothing in it really, other than the odd big score. It was possibly the refs fault again.
@Hooit: the Kearsney braai was on and a rather merry affair. Wondered where you were. KES moms always a handful (if you know what I mean), but Pretoria manne were very subdued and had to restock the Brandewyn quite early in the evening.
Still looking forward to a Monnas braai at Monnas, but the opportunities (and invites) are rather slim. hehehe
@Kattes-Strofes: No the game is on but I’m with you. Gim v Boishaai should be (our) the last game of the season. 1st Team playing Primrose RFC, Seccies against Tygerberg RFC 1st XV and C team against Western Cape Sports Academy 1st XV.
Next Wednesday we are playing against Durbanville and on Saturday against Outeniqua.
@odie15: Overall since we started to play PRG every year from 1976 (last 40 years) with 41 games played HJS has won 24, PRG has won 16 with only one draw in 2002.
@odie15: PRG however did dominate the 90’s with a reverse for them winning 7 and HJS only winning 3.
1999 13 26
1998 3 17
1997 25 22

1994 20 22
1993 11 13
1992 6 3
1991 6 29
1990 0 4

@Kattes-Strofes: I see the games are apparently on. GI’m 1st to play Primrose 1st and Gim 2nds to play Tygerberg 1st.
@Kattes-Strofes: in the ’80s we always had PRG as last match….they loved that. I dont recall our 1st team beating them ever in school. I had a couple of Maroon jerseys in the cupboard after last match swaps. My father had a building partner his family were Paul Roosers the family nickname was Jood any of our Paul Roos bloggers go by that nickname?
Onthou n gemaklike stoel.
I don’t see the Paarl Gim vs. Primrose match on this schedule. Has it been cancelled? I would think so. No disrespect to Primrose, but they will get a huge klap against all the Premier A schools in WP.
I am also of the opinion that the inter- schools match between Boishaai and Gim should be both school’s final match of the season. I am sure that it is very hard for the coaching staff of these two, to motivate their charges again after this event. Grey Bloem and Paul Roos have certainly got it right!
……then again. Go Glenwood!
@Grasshopper: Yip. It happens ones a year I have to bear the weight of my Alma mater vs “my son”. At least I never lose!
May rugby win!
@Toffee: Good luck vs Bosch, hockey & rugby.
@Playa Bishops vs SACS 11.30
Wynberg vs Rondebosch 12.30
@OudUppie: I hope you right, I really want a closer affair than last year. Glenwood missing 1 in SA A team, but Grey has so much depth it shouldn’t affect them. The Grey Cherries and Peaches are as strong as some schools 1st teams.
@Rugbyman: Jy´s fyn gesnaar oor my aanmerking.
I think the GB vs GW game will be much closer then some people might anticipate. GB is playing without 5 SA players and with some ingeries together with home advantage for GW it could be a very close game. Hopefully conditions will be better then the PE weekend.
Anyone know the kick off times for the Bishops v SACS and Wynberg v Bosch games?I hope its different kick offs.Id hate to have to choose.Would love to see both
Selborne v Grey is on tv right?
Junior Pokomela (Grey PE) and Ryno Eksteen (Affies) are joining the Cheetahs. Both on 2 year contracts. Should see them in Super Rugby next year. Awesome!!!
@odie15: There were playoffs to qualify for the playoffs to playoff to qualify for the quarter final which is were we are now. Not so complicated.?
@odie15: O yes and the SA schools / A matches
@Hooit: this Beeld matches seem to have no end. Thought they had 1/4s already?
@Grasshopper: its a Big game for any team who play them…..
@odie15: Grey would probably consider it small, just another easy game. But for the Scumbilo boys it’s one of the biggest tests of the year. Usually to ensure Grey don’t score 100 and the game isn’t stopped early. Last game of the season for the GW boys so will want to do well.
@BrotherBear: Sounds like a good idea for preparation, but in reality will not work. Massive impact’ friendly” games like that just before Beeld quarters might just cause several injuries, especially if you play Garsies and EG Jansen as “warm up”games On the other hand about 3/4’s of EG Jansen’s team played Craven week, so will not be that rusted.
@Hooit: some interesting matches this weekend….focus to neighbors and a small game in KZN somewhere….
@BrotherBear: ….or injured and without any confidence.
@Jakes: Hope you guys have not lost the touch with that kind of lay-off. Saw that Helpies struggled after youth weeks, even though most boys participated there. But then, should be a steamroller against Menlo (or not?).
Seeing that you guys have these gaps and miss out on good match practice before Beeld – Why not arrange a game just after our Garsies game next year? The anticipation and match prep should get you all rough and ready. Hehehehe
Highlight of the Noordvaal rugby season to start this Saturday..Beeld Trophy quarter finals. Some brilliant games to be played over the next 03 weeks. Hope EG Jansen will be well prepared for Menlopark., Nearly 2 months that they played there last game,.
@Hooit: Wie wil weet hoe dinge in Nelspruit lyk? Dis lekker warm hier.
My dik lyf hou van lekker kos……
Hoe lyk dinge daar in Nelspruit? Monnas werk baie hard. Gaan ons 3 SA manne mis. Program vir Monnas Saterdag. 8h00 o/14 vs Waterkloof.
