    Dankie @Ooorkant Loftus. Jy kan ook die logistieke besonderhede volg op die “Beeld Trofee 2016” blog inskrywings. Laas in 2013, dink ek, teen Ligbron op hulle velde gespeel. Harde mannetjies wat wil speel. Hopelik is die Helpie 1e span meer gefokus hierdie Saterdag. Geen maklike games in Beeld.

     @Brotherbear, dankie vir die info.
    Ek sien Ligbron is die Tegniese skool op Ermelo.
    Goed om weer van n skool in Ermelo te hoor.
    Was altyd n mooi ou dorpie op sy tyd. Kan sleg koud word daar !!   Vat maar n ou baadjie of so iets saam.
    Groot ding is die seuns moet dit geniet, beide spanne.
    Die herinneringe van so n wedstryd sal almal altyd onthou !

    @BuffelsCM: Stem saam. Ek weet nie in welke “liga” hierdie spanne normaalweg deelneem nie maar daar is geen logiese rede vir hierdie fixtures nie. Ek weet dat hulle (spesifiek Primrose ) elke jaar ‘n paar wedstryde teen “B” liga skole het, en selfs daar nie die mas kan opkom nie. Daar is sekerlik meriete in daarin om jou te toets teen die top spanne maar dan moet jy ten minste tot ‘n mate kompeterend wees. Om ten minste 2 ligas bo jou vuurmaakplek te probeer speel wetend dat jy ‘n helse pak gaan kry, maak eenvoudig geen sin uit nie. O’n geag bogenoemde verdien Gim ‘n pluimpie vir die feit dat hul nie die games gekanselleer het nie, en die onderskeie klubspanne een vir hul bereidwilligheid om hierdie verpligtinge na te kom.

    @GreenBlooded: I dunno mon, if it was me I’d probably sit down with a beer and wait for the fish to swim back. In the meantime I’d save bait and just use a spoon … :roll: :roll: :roll:

    @Djou: Ja , as die bestuur afrigting en spelers nie alles in plek is en saam werk nie kan mens vergeet van sukses. Al ons spanne gaan meer en meer sukkel om talent te behou. Al die unies gaan moet planne maak om die probleem te oorkom.

    Dalk moet ons soos New Zeeland die top 150 manne SARU kontrakte gee en as hulle loop kan hulle nie vir die Bokke oorweeg word nie. Of ons moet die poel so groot maak dat ons genoeg manne produseer om die knou te kan vat as van die manne oorsee gaan speel. Ek is bevrees ons gaan die Brazil van rugby word. Ons manne met ondervinding gaan oorsee hulle geld maak en die jong manne gaan plaaslik speel. Die leeus het darem gewys dit kan werk.

    @Stier: 91: Belaglik van WP Rugby om sulke wedstryde te skeduleer. Die 2de span het teen Tygerberg RFC se eerstes gespeel (wat beter teenstand as Primrose was) en Derdes teen WP Schools Academy se eerstes. Beide laasgenoemde twee Gim-spanne ook gewen. O/16 A ook 100 punte aangeteken.
    Ek is ten gunste daarvan dat die spel waarvoor ons so lief is, uitgebrei en versprei moet word na almal maar wraggies dit is vernederend as ‘n opponent 17 drieë teen jou druk.
    Hoogtepunt van die dag (vir my) was Theo (Fiela) Boshoff se puik skopvertoning. Hy het 16 uit 17 doelskoppe oorgeskop waarvan talle uit die hoeke was

    @Greenman:

    I was down in Amanzimtoti the other day. It was quite early and there was a bamboo plantation of fishermen on the beach reeling in fish like crazy. I sat for a while and watched them. As long as the fish were biting, the fishermen kept throwing bait in the water and reeling them in.

    Then a funny thing happened. The fish suddenly went off the bite. The fishermen realised that throwing more bait into the water would just be a waste of time, energy and bait. So they packed up their fishing gear and went home. Or maybe to find another spot where the fish were biting.

    @Grasshopper: precisely. And you know what. The kids are laughing at us when they read the sh@$$t we talk here. Wonder sometimes who is the kids. All they want to do is play rugby against the best. Some however would like to punish them as much they can. Thats their kick! Maybe we should not decide for them.

    @Stier: What do you mean eina, 39-10 isn’t too bad. We have lost by 80 plus to Grey previously. We certainly didn’t expect to win it. I am just happy we kept it below 50 and our 2nd’s improved drastically to draw 26-26. Glenwood never claimed to be 6th, that is was the ranking people said. Top 20 for sure, maybe around 15th would be fair.

    So, apart from the Bulls u.19’s who beat the Cheetahs 40-19, their star studded u.21’s lost 20-26 and their Currie Cup team was humiliated. Now, does it really help to pour all that money into the junior teams? They should maybe consider spending less on juniors and rather keep the good senior players.

    @BrotherBear: It all depends. Saterday is planned with lots of time so it will be lots of wood frequently. Will see what is in stock. Only use briquets if the braai was planned for a specific time and with all the distractions, darts, pool, rugby, Ricky Louw etc you see you going to miss the time and the wife gives you that silent stare when you tell her. The stare alone can get the meat done in 5 minutes so if you get it you do what you have to do. But once Ricky and myself becomes one then I am not afraid of the stare. That usually causes some kind of headache the next morning.

    @Hooit: @BrotherBear: Briquettes is the worst of then all!! I refuse to place my meat on a braai grill if fire was made with that ugly stuff, it also releases plenty of unwanted chemicals. I’ll rather eat the meat raw.

    So ek hoop ons het ‘n houtvuur Saterdag. Love Sekelbos, love the smell of the burning wood. Ons sal maar moet wag en sien waarmee ons gaan braai, maar fotos sal ons neem. Soms is dit jammer dat ons nie fotos op die blog kan laai nie…….of dalk is dit ‘n bedekte seën…. :mrgreen:

    1. Sekelbos

    @Hooit: it all depends how khaki you want the shorts to be ;-) Mike was there in shorts, but then he is from the east. Pta pappies attended in the traditional unspectacular “two-tone” shirts. One pappie kept his sunglasses on the whole night – methinks the mommy was unhappy about something and gave him something to remember.

    @BrotherBear: I always have an open invitation for a braai. If there was no Deep Wesrander at the kearsney braai then it wasnt a braai but merely a meat tanning get together. So in other words was there somebody in khaki shorts at the braai or was it not n braai?

    I don’t see the Paarl Gim vs. Primrose match on this schedule. Has it been cancelled? I would think so. No disrespect to Primrose, but they will get a huge klap against all the Premier A schools in WP.

    I am also of the opinion that the inter- schools match between Boishaai and Gim should be both school’s final match of the season. I am sure that it is very hard for the coaching staff of these two, to motivate their charges again after this event. Grey Bloem and Paul Roos have certainly got it right!

Massive impact’ friendly” games like that just before Beeld quarters might just cause several injuries, especially if you play Garsies and EG Jansen as “warm up”games :wink: On the other hand about 3/4’s of EG Jansen’s team played Craven week, so will not be that rusted.
