Thanks to SSL some of the best rugby on offer in the Western Cape is available again via live streaming. For the first time in 2016 it’s SACS sets to be broadcast live in action against Paarl Gim who are making a habit of featuring in live casts. Since the start of the term, sandwiched between this coming SACS match and the one against Boland Landbou was Gim’s televised Premier Interschools match against Paul Roos and what a game that was. Essentially it came down to conversions to separate the two highly rated teams with Gim winning it by four points. As expected there were some fine performances but how good were Muller Uys and Zak Burger and because it’s those little things that sometimes make such a big difference to a team’s cause, well done to Paul Roos flank Hanre du Toit for his efforts. SACS can play some magnificent rugby at times. In their team keep an eye out for Liam Larken. What a talent!
It’s pretty much a Winelands versus Southern Suburbs weekend in Western Province and it’s forecast to be a wet weekend at that. As usual the City boys will be the underdogs. The Paul Roos-Rondebosch match should be top drawer stuff. It’s a first really big test for Bosch and yet another difficult game for Paul Roos who have an incredible demanding fixture list this season and have so far acquitted themselves well so far. The Wynberg Festival around is just around the corner. Here again SSL plans to come to the party by showing plenty of matches, just have a look at their website (http://schoolsportslive.com) and subscribe to their youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXJyZdiJoxj-ZSxS19JzRuw) . The host team are bound to get a facility dress rehearsal as a good crowd should turn up for this encounter. Whether Berg can keep pace with Paarl Boys’ High is another story. The Boishaai game against Bishops was streamed this past weekend and Boishaai looked like they are starting to shift into those higher gears now. Remember the last time Boishaai lost a match was to Marlow on the 30 August 2014, so if you are reading this on 21 April 2016, that was 600 days ago.
Here’s the Blog’s predictions for Saturday:
Paarl Gim by 20 over SACS
Paul Roos by 15 over Rondebosch
HJS Paarl BH by 30 over Wynberg Boland
Landbou by 40 over Strand
Bishops by 10 over Tygerberg
Outeniqua by 20 over Drostdy
Stellenberg by 30 over Bellville
Brackenfell by 20 over Durbanville
@Speartackle:
Daar lê 4 berge voor as ek die dinge so kyk.
Weet enige een waar speel Pieter Rossow se seun tans? …ook Pieter. …watter span? ….Hy het saam ons seuns Laerskool gespeel
Dink Gim gaan hierdie een gemaklik vat
@Speartackle: Vra die WP rugby unie.
@boerboel: And your point is?
High flying?-Did they not lose to Garsfonrein?
Wanneer begin Stellenberg teen meer sterker opposisie speel?
Some rain falling since last night all the way through Saturday morning. Think you can cut those margins down by 25-30%.
Stellenberg rolling out 16 teams this weekend, improving last weeks number by 1. 10 against Bellville and Bishops making up the rest. Great that every team in the school is playing atleast its 3rd game of the year with the winelands 4 and Outeniqua still lined up where all teams will play.
