Valke ambition gets a Craven Week cold shoulder

With 13 of the power EG Jansen team in their squad of 22, it’s reasonable to expect the Valke to be a handful for any top provincial under-18 team they come up against this season. Their Craven Week schedule may however not do them justice. In game 2 of match-day 2, the Valke have been matched against an EPCD team that have already had to overcome a few internal player availability issues, which may hinder their preparation for the youth week. The 2 main slots of that match-day 2 belong to the Golden Lions versus KZN and defending champions EP vs SWD, in what very much looks like a “winners advance to the semi-final” scenario. That makes it almost impossible for the Valke to progress to the unofficial Craven Week final. The Valke’s strategy should be to give it their all in that first game against EPCD and then hope that they created enough of a positive vibe amongst the SA Schools organisers to be paired against a big union for their second match, which might up their profile quite significantly.

The first day of CW I see the Cheetahs play Griffons.
That could have been a better match up.
Sorry for the Griffons, I dont mean any disrespect.
But the CW schedule is worked out on how all the Provinces finished the previous year, am I correct?
