In kort, moenie so emosioneel raak dat jy so baie kak praat nie!

In the current bok squad there is only one KZN school boy in the side – Marcel Coetzee and he did not even play craven week. There is also not one English speaking white boy in the squad. That says a lot about schoolboy rugby in KZN. I also read the article about Garsfontein/Affies. There is a lot of unhappiness in the Western and Eastern Cape about the way Garsfontein and Monnas are doing the recruiting thing. If Garsfontein were so serious about players of colour why are they not recruiting from Eersterus in Pretoria and develop them. good luck to DHS for the Kearsney game on their Founders day.

@Playa: You want to be a father, buy the old fashioned nappies, and wash them when they are dirty. And they last for as long as kwedien craps in his pants. And as a bonus, it impresses the wife. They say that its not the cost of living, but the cost of high living. Thats my parenting, marriage and economy tip for the day.

@Andre T: I commented on the Monnas game already, well done to Monnas at home. It was their pack vs our backs. The Glenwood backs were far superior to Monnas and the Monnas pack monstered the Glenwood pack. Unfortunately modern rugby is won in the pack so Monnas won the day. If Glenwood had played clever and keep the ball moving the score might have been different. The Monnas tight 5 is impressive, big and do the basics well. I think the Glenwood locks were a little light but I saw them win a few scrums. The Monnas props were scrumming illegally quite a bit. I like the Monnas 8 too…..

@Roger: I have the print copy. I am partly Scottish – having paid six Runt for the rag already I am not dropping 1.43 cases of beer on the internet subscription. Drop me a mail to gungetstuft(at)gmail-dot-com, I will see if I can scan it for you. Local oke – pay the man, journalists are people too – buy the rag. I can confirm that the rest of it is yoosless but it is quite soft and friendly, if you get my drift …

@Andre T: mmmm reality bites. And we had a relatively big pack last year with Du Preez’s and Schramm, and we didn’t fair brilliantly, this year we are in trouble as HMS Glenwood goes into battle at Craven Week.

Gosh but it’s quiet here today. Where are all the KXN boys?

Imagine if Glenwood had beaten Monnas on Saturday……a special thread would have been opened already and comments would have reached 180 by now with 90 coming from Grassy.

I wonder what Jordaan thought of the game?

Not much we don’t already know, except there may be a few “timing discussions”when the article does get “free to air”. Right now it might be illegal to reproduce it here.

I have the print copy – some fascinating dancing around the facts and accusations and denials. Lekker quote … Ïf there is a high school boy that we think could benefit long term from coming to xxxxxxxx, we will talk to him, and see what we can do to make it happen. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t”.

And another quote “There may be some boys joining us in the 3rd term so that they can be integrated into the system before next year begins but that has not been finalised as yet. They are certainly not here now”.

And “xxxxxxxxxx denied any poaching had taken place, saying “those boys approached us. We are known for developing our own talent”. But Hewett alleged the trasfer had been engineered by “agents from the Union”. Fynn said “We identify talent. But the Sharks Academy is not involved with High School transfers at present, and no contracts are offered to boys U18.”

And then a quote all of my own .. “Oh what a tangled web we weave
When first we practice to deceive. – Sir Walter Scott”

Buy the Witness – it’s a short fascinating read – and it is going to start painting the floor away from the only door … gnome sane.

Read it in the paper and there is very little that has not been seen on this blog … in fact, I wondered if Rowan Philip did not get most of the info from here and if he was not Jordaan trying to troll for some comment!
