@Maroon: Thanks, there were a few standout players on the day, but of all of them, this youngster impressed me the most. His decision making is spot on, he has a crisp pass and most importantly, he looks like he has all the time in the world when he has the ball – He will have a massive season
@Toffee: There is one new boy. He is in Gr8. The prop JP Smith. The flank, Da Silva, played second team last year, but is potent. Then one wing also came to Bishops last year in Gr8. Fullback and captain, Pieterse is from Dubai. His parents sent him to Bishops last year. Sam Mitchell, the lock was at Bishops prep and then left to Pretoria Boys for 2 years and came back last year. Other than that all other boys have been there since Gr 8 as far as I know. Not sure where the rumors of new recruits has started.
@beet: That is a big blow to Boishaai and Western Province.
Ruan has recently recovered from a shoulder injury as well. He is a top bloke, head boy of his school and I really feel sorry for him. Lousy news indeed Beet !!
@balikibaba. It is good to see a strong Bishops side again. I heard that you have a few new boys who recently joined the school, who look very useful, in particular your one flank. Do you have any background on these players. Looking forward to a great derby when Bishops/Wynberg meet.
Lousy news. Boishaai captain at hooker and SA Schools hopeful Ruan Brits has been ruled out for the season following an injury against Bishops in the Newlands game. I really feel for the youngster. Apart for the season, he misses the Sanix tournament in Japan
@BoishaaiPa: lol, Pa, was just waiting for rugby season to start again, and if we start loosing again, I may just go very quiet again! Looking fwd to Brug Straat now that my afkop hoendertjies can run on a wider field!
Well done to Wynberg (and Bishops) on the wins. Lets hope the Southern Suburbs teams can be a little more competitive against the Boland schools and not get “N1/2 Fever” when it comes to the 80 minute fixtures.
@Balikibaba: Sheesh Bali, we havnt heard from you in ages and one win later you are chatting away again like an “afkop hoenertjie” ,,, ..As I mentioned before..welcome Back!..WP schools needs a strong Bishops and I hope the last two year’s perils are now well and truly behind you..We will be waiting at Brug Street for the real match!
@Grasshopper: Re underestimating Bishops, there was someone on the Grey PE festival thread who said the only Cape school representative was not strong. That is what I am referring to.
@Tandem: Thanks. Yes it’s going to be a very interesting season. There is no such thing as a week Boishaai team. Just one that may not be as strong as a previous year.
@Balikibaba: Well done ! Bishops has always been a great team and only people who don’t understand their impressive history will underestimate their potential. This year things will be very interesting in the Cape league . Paul
Roos are very dangerous with Brendan as coach and Paarl Gym is already putting a marker down . Boishaai will have a tough year but I believe they will ultimately make us proud . The new coaching team will need time to settle . Bishops , Wynberg and Landbou will be very competitive and things can be very interesting with no easy games on offer. Well done again .
@Grasshopper: Hopper, 5 backs were back, but more importantly they were also the stars from last year. 2 loosies back from last year. 1 lock. New front row.
Going to be tough game vs green machine come Saturday.
@Balikibaba: I don’t think anybody on this blog underestimated or wrote them off, just saw them an unknown entity that is all. Also, after 2 poor seasons it all that is known. You must have had quite a few grade 11’s last year in the 1st team and a good under 16 group. Both teams will be playing away so it’s about who plays best on the day…
@beet: Well, Beet, people wrote Bishops off before the season even started, basing opinion on 2 rather average years. Hopefully this team can do us proud again. People forget that Bishops were consistently top 10 up until 2 years ago. Short memories.

@RBugger: Hi RBugger. His surname is Jantjies. Same player that played CW last year.
@Toffee: There is one new boy. He is in Gr8. The prop JP Smith. The flank, Da Silva, played second team last year, but is potent. Then one wing also came to Bishops last year in Gr8.
@beet: That is a big blow to Boishaai and Western Province.

Baie sterkte met die herstel Ruan !!

@PaulRoosPa: Who is your scrummy this year? Same player that played CW last year?
Blady good player
@beet: Not good and never nice reading about injuries, all the best to Ruan and may he be back soon.
Lousy news. Boishaai captain at hooker and SA Schools hopeful Ruan Brits has been ruled out for the season following an injury against Bishops in the Newlands game. I really feel for the youngster. Apart for the season, he misses the Sanix tournament in Japan

@Balikibaba: PRG vs Bishops gonna be a good one no doubt

@phat55: Paul Roos also looking potent.
@Balikibaba: yes i was but not all the games
@phat55: We’re you there?
Bishops looked really good, especially their backline
@Grasshopper: Re underestimating Bishops, there was someone on the Grey PE festival thread who said the only Cape school representative was not strong. That is what I am referring to.
@Grasshopper: Correct. And no kicking for poles. So no conversions either.
@Tandem: Thanks. Yes it’s going to be a very interesting season. There is no such thing as a week Boishaai team. Just one that may not be as strong as a previous year.
These were not full length games were they? Just 20 mins each way?

@Ploegskaar: Ja, defnitief. Sal laat weet dan kom ons bymekaar by die ondersteuners saal.
@Tierklou: Sou eerder se Bellville was onindrukwekkend teen Milnerton. Gaan ons ‘n slag bladskud Saterdag?
@Grasshopper: Hopper, 5 backs were back, but more importantly they were also the stars from last year. 2 loosies back from last year. 1 lock. New front row.
Going to be tough game vs green machine come Saturday.
@BoishaaiPa: thanks Boishaaipa. I am under no illusion it will be a different story come Brug straat in July.
@Balikibaba: I don’t think anybody on this blog underestimated or wrote them off, just saw them an unknown entity that is all. Also, after 2 poor seasons it all that is known. Milnerton was Saterdag baie impressive teen Bellville.
Wat was tellings vir die aand
Bad luck boys..well done to Bishops, welcome back!
@beet: Well, Beet, people wrote Bishops off before the season even started, basing opinion on 2 rather average years. Hopefully this team can do us proud again. People forget that Bishops were consistently top 10 up until 2 years ago. Short memories.
Excellent result for Bishops. This will add new meaning to Saturday’s Bishops vs Glenwood game
Wow! Gim and Bosch combined for 7 tries in 40min, that’s a try every 6 or so minutes
Paul Roos 25 SACS 0
Scores coming in:
Milnerton 15 – President 0
