Die Brandwag’s 2013 team contained some very good players that helped them achieve a set of good results. Included in that team was Malcolm Jaer who went on to gain SA Schools selection, joining the likes of Brandwag old boys Freddie Ferreira (1980), Sean Plaatjies (1996) and Riaan Arendse (2007) in the process.
This year the Eastern Province school believes they have the makings of good team with high expectations of a strong pack of forwards. They however do not want to get ahead of themselves. As is sometimes the case in schoolboy rugby, what’s on paper and what happens on grass don’t always tie up. So for now Brandwag are focusing rather on putting in the hard graft in training in order to place themselves in the best possible position to succeed.

@Stormberg Mountains: If you click on the fixtures menu at the top of the screen and look for the Eastern Cape fixtures, you will find all the top schools from the region there bunched together
@Stormberg Mountains: Grey fixtures have been released for a whole now.
anyone know when the Queens, Selborne and Grey HS fixtures are getting published?
@Mike: Yes they have pulled out of the Grey PE fixture which is not good.
I did hear the other day that the Grey fixture on the 17th May will now be Muir which will be the first time they have played in 8 years. Grey first played Muir in like 1893 and it is there oldest rival so lets see if this comes off.
@DC ARMY: That they do there pack is very big.
@rugbyfan: Brandwag pulled out of the Grey PE fixture last year.
Two very very good props. Massive kids. As well as a good flank in Morney Moos.
@DC ARMY: Both their EP representatives props are back
@Rugbyfan, does Brandwag have a super 15 type forward pack again this year?
See Jack Thomas in there squad his brother played SA Schools in 2010 thought they were Muir boys unless a bit of movement is happening in the Uitenhage schools.
Looking at the fixture list I see a few games not being played that they played last year one being Grey PE and the other one Queens.
That makes there oppontents a bit light weight overall if they what to be with the top boys.
