Many in the Paul Roos family are still hurting after Saturday’s all-important 1st team rugby match against Grey College. Paul Roos prides itself on being a top rugby school and this season has been particularly difficult for them. However their overall sports results against Grey College is still something for the home faithful to smile about. Even in rugby, PRG showed their depth and came out on top on aggregate. Look at these super results…

I must admit Paul Roos has depth. If I am not mistaken they won all their rugby games against Grey PE earlier this year, except for the first team who just lost.
Need I say it again, Paul Roos’ 1st team will come back with a bang next year. They have something to proof. This was probably their worse year this decade. The rest of the pack did very well, therefor they have something to built on.
Here is some info for you all on total games lost by Grey Bloem in all age groups and all teams.
2013 33 Lost
2003 11 Lost
1993 27 Lost
1983 9 Lost
1973 4 Lost
1963 5 Lost
1953 4 Lost
1943 7 Lost
So this would give you the idea of the depth at Grey Bloem getting worse but this is not the case the amount of total games played by Grey Bloem teams in 2013 is triple the amount played in 1963 so it has stayed pretty consant, I think the other big factor is the other schools depth has got better as the years have progressed.
This would also prove Grey Bloem has always being top of the pile.
@Grey Brak: We can congratulate PR on these great results, but no-one is talking about the 1st hockey or tennis side. The rugby results were very good for PR, but the 1st team lost. It’s like the Paarl interschools. That’s the only game everyone cares about. Grey did very well on those muddy fields, BUT PR will be back. They only lost by 7 against Affies, 9 against Gim and 1 against PBH.
It would be very interesting to see Grey, Gim, Affies and Outeniqua in a mini tournament now.
Well done to Paul Roos on there results! Was a really good inter school to end of the year.
Well done to the Grey boytjies as well. Winning +- half of the rugby matches after a 14 hour bus drive and playing in totally unknown conditions (mud baths)…. This surely reiterates that Grey rugby remains vey strong, even when touring and the odds stacked against us. Next year these results will surely swing heavily in favour of us agian. As BHP said. Home ground advantage is a major factor. Especially when travelling so far.
The Grey Bloem vs Paul Roos inter school is an truely amazing event whereby friendships are forged and the competition is great. We look forward to welcoming you next year.
That is a great result for Paul Roos against the benchmark school in SA. Homeground advantage in rugby is definatly a factor
as PRG could only win 7 out of 18 games played against Boishaai in July, yet Boishaai could only win 5 or 6 games up i
in Bloem against Grey. Well done to PRG in winning everything except the table tennis.
