Affies, highly rated and coached by Ruan Jacobs, will be hosting a strong Helpmekaar 1st XV in what promises to be an exciting clash. While recent history over the past decade suggests that Affies will likely add another win to their tally, the Witbulle won’t be taking anything for granted against the determined Bruin Reuse.
Under the guidance of RJ Liebenberg, Helpmekaar know they will face a tough test on defence, but they also have plenty of attacking ammo to offer. If their set-pieces and breakdown discipline hold up, and their handling improves from what they showed against Michaelhouse, they’ll have a solid chance of making their supporters proud and putting up a real challenge against the pre-season South African rankings favourites, who are solid across all areas of the game.
