Time running out for any thumb-suck gurus

One of the biggest attractions to any schoolboy rugby website is its rankings. Although a lot of schools have not played enough matches to provide enough adequate data to rank them with any margin of validity, the norm of determining the top of the charts with reasonable accuracy seems to have kicked in fairly early this year with perhaps just Dr EG Jansen getting a raw deal across the websites so far. So what does your Top 10 thumb-suck look like?

RANK SCHOOL
1 Paarl Gim
2 Grey College
3 Oakdale
4 Paul Roos
5 HJS Paarl BH
6 EG Jansen
7 ???
8 ???
9 ???
10 ???

Amongst the leading contenders so far:

Affies
Bishops
Durbanville
Garsfontein
Glenwood
Hilton
Maritzburg College
Monument
Outeniqua
Selborne
Stellenberg

@tandem, boishaai will be in top 5 possibly nr 2 if u win interschools which is always 50/50…u have 2 other tough games : bishops, who have not won at Brug street for 20 years? Please confirm..and then Oakdale, which is limited out wide and your pack is stronger..Paul Roos is very weak so u will beat them easily..keep faith the rivalry and strength of Boishhaai rugby is what keep us at Gym striving to get better and keep up with u..so wish thee relationships were better and more collaborative

Gim first team has exceeded all our expectations… this matric group has consistently lost against all the other top schools in age group rugby… a lot has been said about certain schools buying success. it was interesting that 34 out of the 37 players in Paarl Gim u19A & B teams at the North South tournament were in Gym in Grade 8…we will never accept a post matric super star.. it goes against our ethos..

I think many bloggers including myself will have a rethink about Bishops after today’s impressive 36-13 win against Paul Roos who were a Top 5 favourite coming into the match.

    Helpmekaar verloor teen marais viljoen.

    @beet: Gevolg deur.
    Marlow
    EG Jansen
    Monnas
    Boland

Affies/Grey College just cancelled their game for coming saturday as per school of rugby Facebook page. This game will be postponed to later this year if possible. So sad

@HTSDonkie: Donkie is correct, Hts Drostdy will be a Top 10 Contender

KES might surprise, Garsfontein and Monnas will recover and turn their season around

I wanted to say its a pity Oakdale don’t play Gim this year then I had a look at their 5-week schedule starting on Saturday 22 May:

    Paul Roos
    Grey College
    Durbanville
    HJS Paarl
    Outeniqua

That is one seriously tough run.

@Smallies: I think one Paarl school can be 20 points better than the other all season long and it still won’t count for anything on the at the day of their Interskole.

I am a very loyal Boishaai supporter.
I believe we can still turn our season around, especially with a view big guns returning from injury.

We simply have to remain positive.

My prediction, and i know its a bold one, but Boishaai will end up in the top 3.
