Winelands headliners Boland Landbou and Paul Roos are all set to get the WP schoolboy rugby season underway after over a year of no rugby.
The match will be streamed live from the Farm just outside Paarl on Friday 23 April 2021. Kick-off 12h00.
Both schools have given the annual Noord-Suid Festival a miss this year, freeing up this unique opportunity for this first of two meetings scheduled for 2021.
In many respects it is a clean slate season with no single player being able to count on past 1st XV achievements to bolster his reputation.
That said pundits are hoping to see an exciting battle unfold between the two backrows of this first up encounter.

Thankfully the second half was watchable. PRG backline was something else. Good hands at pace. Accuracy and speed combined out wide to exploit the games. Difference makers. Boland Landbou pack were a handful. They seemed to dominate that second half with tight loose play. When the fields get wetter they are not going to be fun to play against.

Ek sê weer dis moeilik om te sê hoe goed ‘n span is as jy nog net een wedstryd gekyk het, maar Paul Roos se agterlyn lyk skrikwekkend goed.

I woke up this morning so excited. I really did not expect SBR in 2021. A few Whatsapp messages sent to me spelt out the big reality check for these Covid lockdown times – a huge dependency on the reliability of DigiTV. For the sake of everyone who has an interest in SBR, lets hope that they can get things right so that we can all enjoy the rugby. And this is not just for this weekend, it applies to the foreseeable future.
