2020 was probably the most challenging year the education system has faced since the Second World War. During these difficult times, the biggest challenge was always going to present itself in the poorer communities. That said one cannot play down the massive effort made by many of the financially better off and in many cases leading schools of South Africa to keep academics on track. Hard-working, dedicated teachers directed and supported by some great school leaders and management teams stepped up, with their flexibility ultimately providing the platform for their students to delivered admirable under the circumstances. Truly outstanding efforts made by those in the profession.
