Grey College defeated Voortrekker (Bethlehem) 46-5 at the massive Fichardtpark Sports Day in Bloemfontein. The event featured no fewer that 50 school rugby teams.
For Grey College star fullback EW Viljoen scored a hat trick of tries and added four conversions plus a penalty for a personal contribution of 26 points. The fullback is going to be a handful for opposition this season.
Other Grey College tries were scored by scrumhalf Heinrich Sanders, lock Reinhardt Arndt, wing Stephen Rautenbach and loose-forward Johan Venter.
The Grey College 1st XV is amongst the pre-season favourites to top the school rankings this season.
At the same Sports Day the Grey College Cherries (2nd XV) beat the Landboudal 1st XV 25-16 and the Grey College under-16A team recorded an impressive 68-3 victory over Noord-Kaap.
Jou bravade is baie “on-PRG” Jou kind het seker so pas daar begin, of hoe?
Looks like Noordkaap were pushing Grey Under 16 till the final minute there then gave away 60 points.
They say if it had not been for the last 6 tries, it would have been close.
