@tzavosky: Being from Garsies or Monnas, the job seeker was probably overqualified – or not. Didn’t @Hooit say they don’t focus on academics?

@Playa: Someone with 1st hand info told me about a guy who applied for a managerial post at a Pta comp. His CV read:

    20xx BB u13 CW
    20yy BB u16 Grant Khomo
    20xz BB u18 CW
    20xa BB u19
    20xb BB u21
    20xc BB u21
    20xd BB Vodacom Cup

Nah, he didn’t get the job!

@Queenian: Sjoe! They’ll have grey hairs (excuse the pun) by the time the final whistle blows 8-O

@Quagga: Hopefully the parents preach the same/similar story. As bad as our unemployment rate is, a youngster with a qualification stands a far higher chance of being employed than a talented rugby player has of making the big league. The conversion rate from high school to senior rugby stardom is minute. I think Beet did the numbers some years back – what an eye opener it was.

@Slam: @Grasshopper: From what I understand, the Bulls are in cahoots with Tuks and TUT. We won’t see a lot of these boys in Under 19 & 20 CC line-ups, but we’ll see them in varsity cup/shield games for the next couple of years. Of course some will fall through the cracks. Sure, the Bulls will be bleed a lot of Randelas now paying their salaries and tertiary fees, but they’ll recover it with a premium when they offload excess personnel in 3-5 years’ time. Great for business, terrible for the young sportsman who walks in there with a dream. It’s how the Bulls roll.

A word of advice to those who find themselves in a varsity team…give your academics more attention, and treat rugby as you did in high school. That attitude has taken you this far, if your rugby talent is anything to speak of, then the rugby will take care of itself.

@Muzi: Hey Muzi. This Ruan de Swardt matter is a bit strange. The Bulls released their u19 contract list after that Supersport article which clearly states:

“I spoke to the Blue Bulls the other day about the rugby, but at the end of the day my decision is cricket after school. Something in my heart told me after the Coke Week that cricket is the way to go.”

@Muzi: Agreed, WP vs Lions Under19 and maybe Craven Week, but I’m hoping KZN finally stand up at Craven Week!

@Grasshopper: lions & WP in the final again?!?!…this is probably the weakest Bulls squad I’ve seen on paper for the past decade….all the money went to Lood’s salary I guess….

Kleynhans van Bothaville het as graad 11 leerder al Griffons 0/19 gespeel en toe ek hom aan Menlo wou voorstel toe word dit afgelag.

Well done Juan Carlo…..jy kan dit ver bring want jy is honger vir dit

FFS! They got to pay all this lot. Not heard of many of them. Lions squad looks better to me. Surely it’s about quality not quantity. Also, our Unions are battling, contracts should be scarce…

55 players! Do the Bulls really need go sign this many? They’ve contracted 6 hookers. Going to be some disappointed lads when they’re not getting game time.
