Hillcrest touch rugby players schoolbags stolen

According to the KZN newspaper the Daily News, more than 50 schoolbags belonging to Hillcrest High players attending a touch rugby tournament at Kings Park in Durban on Friday, were stolen out of their bus. The theft happened within an hour of their arrival at Kings Park and none of the bus windows were broken.

Amongst the valuables believed to have been taken were electronic tablets.

Hillcrest is an E-learning school. As a result their students use tablets for school work.

It will be an extra blow to students who’s tablets have been stolen and do not have their work backed up elsewhere. Year end exams are about to start.

The driver of the bus company has some explaining to do.

Did this not happen near Nkandla, by any chance? The money is running out in Tshwane.

My son had money stolen from a bag on a Johannesburg tour. It would be nice to think the drivers are all honest and reliable, but too little pay, too much time on their hands, it’s a matter of time…

The organized event like the Hillcrest theft, eeisch.

Yep – I heard another school had a similar experience the week before at same venue…. plus some CURRO HCA students had bags pilfered too.

Yup – start with the bus driver. Won’t need to dig much further than that.
