Almost cant believe how many of these names i dont recognize. Any chance we can get the 98-2003 teams on here as well.

To think, in a couple of years the whole pack bar Nick Koster could all be playing for Province. Am I the only one that is looking forward to JD and Eben playing 100 games for the Stormers together?

@phat55: Yes indeed! I guess he’ll be playing for WP U/19 in 2014.

@BoishaaiPa: The problem in selecting a team of this nature is the fact that you invariably look at a player’s current form. It is difficult to remember exactly how good a player really was at the time. Somebody like Leon Karemaker (WP 2002/3) was a brilliant player at schoolboy and age group levels. If you look at his current form (and I’m not trying to be too negative here) you wouldn’t have guessed that he once was such a brilliant player.
I know his health played a role in this regard but that is not the point – certain players develop over time while others are almost at the top of their game at the age of 18.

IMO Lourens Adriaanse was a player that took some time to develop for example. I know he is in the Springbok squad but he is about 25 at the moment. We all know that tight forwards used to mature in their late twenties only. Steven Kitshoff and Frans Malherbe on the other hand have been in the WP senior system for a while now and both are quite a few years younger than Lourens.

I see Grant Hermanus is listed in the CW teams for 2012 & 2013 and I believe in 2014 he’ll only be in grade12…….is that correct????
