    @Vleis: they do produce good teams but they certainly do not take it as seriously as ither schools ,I doubt if they do any recruiting.

    @Smallies: I remember a St Alban’s 1st team, which contained two future SA u20 players (amongst others), losing to them in Bloem in 2012.

    @Vleis: they are one of the best schools in the country in my veiw, rugby just isn’t that important to them their focus is on Cricket and Hockey,which is fine

    @Kaya 85: St Andrews’ main problem is its small size, which is not a problem for cricket, but is for rugby. St Andrew’s has a cricket exchange program with the UK, so Joe Root spent a season there some 10 to 15 years ago. Apparently, he scored a ton (no pun intended) of runs for the school.

    @KES Oldboy: ouch
    having a superpower (Jedi College, Bloem) in close proximity is bad for all the others in town.

    @Kaya 85: St. Andrews take cricket scores Vs St. John’s so that maybe answers your question….

    @Kaya 85: yea mate the situation in Bloem is not good atm Fichard park and Jim Fouche are doing a lot of work and it is paying of….perhaps Freestate rugby should have a talk with them regarding development …however after SARU basiccaly ensured the death of Freestate rugby I dont think they have the moolas to do that ..

    @Smallies: Thanks, who do they play? … It is in everyone’s interest to create more centres of rugby excellence in Bloem. By the way, with Shimlas and now CUT, there are two very good varsity teams.

    @Kaya 85: San Du Plessis has been on the decline for a while and Sentraal seems to have imploded this year,they took a beating against both Fichies and Jim Fouche

    …and for those who know Bloem, how far behind the 8 ball is a school like St Andrews?

    Daar is nie ‘n 15 en 16 op die lys nie.

    No fullbacks and reserve hookers in the squads.

    Interesting approach.

    @Smallies: poletiek is besig om Vrystaat Craven week rugby nek om te draai net soos SARU besig is om Cheetah rugby keel af te sny,oh well it was fun while it lasted….
