Bad news for Junior Commonwealth games Sevens hopefuls

The Junior Commonwealth Games takes places in the Bahamas this year. The under-18 Sevens event will be staged from 19 to 23 July 2017. These dates clash with Craven Week which will be hosted by St Stithians in Randburg from 17-22 July.

SARU may have to consider granting some sort of Craven Week exemption to SA Schools hopefuls if they want to select a relatively strong and competitive team for the Junior Commonwealth Games.

Hannes Nienaber wonderful website : SchoolofRugby is reporting on an under-19 Sevens tournament that takes place in Namibia from 03-04 March 2017. The official South African under-18 Sevens team will be joined by an SA All-Stars team, Namibia, Zambia, Botswana and Germany in the six team line-up. Although it should be an easy outing for the Baby Blitzbokke there may be benefits that contribute towards the Junior Commonwealth Games preparations.

@Hooit: I will ask Marius S for them but SARU no longer keen to part with team lists ahead of schedule these days.
