finishing the tournament without conceding a try is impressive.could be indicative of the opposition as well, but impressive nontheless
The Bokkies were impressive at the Africa Youth Games.
They were the only team to finish the tournament without conceding a try and won the final 60-0 against Kenya!
SA – Gold!
Kenya – Silver
Zimbabwe – Bronze
@Grasshopper: Grasshopper house rules man, house rules. I’m new here,as you have indicated and haven’t been following the house rules. I promise from now on to follow the house rules. Look I did it, admitted a fault. Come you can do the same.
@Anti Green: what did you call me earlier?
@Grasshopper: Hey Grasshopper there are house rules, banter is one thing, getting personal is not the house rules. May have to complain to the Kearsney Old Boy. Good luck
@Anti Green: you certainly don’t seem to have a Michaelhouse education or qualify for Mensa with your comments….
@BOG: Hope he makes a fully recovery with all the confidence again.
@Anti Green: what you on about, I run a digital media business, never been involved with Gibson House…
@Anti Green: From what I read on FB, he had surgery. A steel plate was inserted and his torn lip stitched. Certainly Bok material, at this stage
@Pedantic: @Anti Green: Not sure which of those boys are not U18. I know that Immelman is U19 and will not be eligible for FS. But see the team sheets that were up vs Affies. It had their birth dates(GCB)
@Grasshopper: Thank goodness, there is something you are not in charge of. Quite a few things that I know you were in charge of while at Gibson House. Due to the house rules you keep them to yourself.
@Anti Green: Nope, the site is run by Beet, a Kearsney Old boy…
@BOG: That was such a horrible injury, I think he was the best number 15 in the country. Hope he recovers well. Speedy recovery from Anti Green.
@Grasshopper: yes of course Grasshopper your *** Glenwood house rules, for you and the rest of your *** friends.
Does any one know on what grounds were the team selected?
The squad will compete at the African Youth Games with the hope of qualifying for the Youth Olympic Games, which takes place from August 16 – 28 in Nanjing, China. However, qualification for YOG does not mean that participation at Nanjing is certain. According to the Nanjing 2014 Qualification Systems Principles, “Participation in team sports shall be limited to one women’s and one men’s team per National Olympic Committee across team sports (Football, Handball, Hockey, and Rugby).”
Earlier this year, South Africa won both the girls and boys hockey at the African Youth Games, Whilst in earlier 2013, the SA U18 Sevens team took gold at the last Youth Olympic Games in Australia.
So’ this is serious staff and a hell of an experience for these few guys.
I don’t think this team was picked on merit though.
@GreenBlooded: Sorry! Maybe I shoulda left the word “not” out my last sentence to see the fun and games continue
@BOG: How many of these guys are Under 18 this year ?
Free State U18 (2013):
Washeem Galant
PC Labuschagne
Alex Jonker
Sherwin Cupido
DP de Lange
Henry Immelman
Sheldon Fortuin
SJ Wessels
Dian Badenhorst
Charl Pretorius
Niel Stannard
Llewellyn Hein
@Pedantic: Why go and spoil it at the end by letting facts get in the way of a good old bitch and moan session??
@burra: Henry Immelman. He is out with a broken jaw .Im not saying that a GCB player must be in the side, Im merely asking about the selection process and Im sure, others would like to know as well. If its an invitation side, say so.
KwaZulu Natal 7’s U18 (2013):
Nthokozo Vidima
Jaco Coetzee
Chris Schoeman
Bruce Arnott
Keegan Nxumalo
Michael Bouwer
Thomas Walker
Curtis Jonas
Morné Joubert
Brad Else
Sam Matiwane
Sphamandla Ngcobo
And before you ask … Erasmus was not involved as a coach or selector
@Anti Green: Shows you new here, there are house rules….
Yes of course, Grasshopper. If they don’t make the side you will complain. Thanks Pendatic didn’t know how it worked. That’s awesome. What a
Privilege to be in a side like that.Grasshopper thanks for your sarcasm was just trying to find out how things work.
@Grasshopper: @Anti Green: There is an annual provincial 7’s tournament held towards the end of September every year – you will find many of the players would have taken part there.
@Anti Green: Via the national school 7’s league, heard of it. Glenwood won the KZN one and went on to play the national one. Both Coetzee and Joubert are brilliant players, both SA schools 15’s hopefuls……if you knew anything you would know that….
Thanks for the compliment, couldn’t you be a little more original. Grasshopper with a Glenwood jersey. Yes would love to see how they picked that side. Grey Bloem and the WC have by far the strongest teams in the school league. What about those runners from Dale bloody hell, give them space and nobody would catch them.
@burra: He is not U18
Grey College Fullback, forgot his name but he’s a really good player saw him at the KERF against Westville. He should be there too.
@Anti Green: Not really, yet they had the most players in the team a few yrs back and of course, several in the national side.(Stand to be corrected) Would be interesting to hear how this team was “selected”? Lucky draw, raffle—
@Anti Green: Love your name, haha!
Does Grey Bloem not play 7’s. Well done to all.
keanu vers would be good sevens player why is he not in team?
