The SA Rugby Player of the Year awards for 2013 will only take place on 12 February 2014 which is quite a long time off. There is no award for the School Team or Schoolboy Rugby Player of the Year but hopefully SARU will continue with an award for the Craven Week Player of the Tournament award.

Grant Hermanus from Paarl Gim, the best player – by far having the most influence.
My team of the year – definitely EG Jansen. Perhaps not the best, but they impressed against top schools and made huge progress. Paarl Gim a close second.

Gim and Affies defo top 2 teams but based on the hammering Province gave the Bulls at CW, i would have to favour Gim as the number 1 side…

With regards to Bothma and Vermuelen, both had great seasons and are both great players, but my bet was Grant Hermanus who was solid and looks like a very talented player for the future
