Deon Gericke replaces Sean Erasmus at Craven Week

Current St Charles under-16A coach Deon Gericke has been appointed to replace Sean Erasmus as the KZN Craven Week assistant coach. In all probability Deon will work with the forwards while fellow newly appointed assistant coach Grant Bell (Westville) will handle the backs. The head coach is Kearsney’s Director of Rugby Barend Steyn who will take charge of his fourth Craven Week in 2014.

Gericke who was the DHS head coach before he joined St Charles as a teacher in 2013, was previously assigned to be head coach of the KZN Country Districts team in 2014. His promotion to Craven Week status means that Ryan Kyle of Creston College near Port Shepstone becomes the new KZN CD head coach and Dave van der Westhuizen of Sarel Cilliers in Glencoe (near Dundee) gets drafted in as the new assistant coach.

Hopefully now when Glenwood boys are picked in the side we won’t get chirps from Westville bloggers about bias etc. We might see some DHS and St Charles players coming in now ;-)
