Noordvaal Virsekerbekerspanne – EG Jansen, Garsfontein, Monnas en Menlopark wat met wenne begin … altyd positief. Nog baie foute, maar dit is verstaanbaar so vroeg in die seisoen.
Ek het n paar dinge geleer uit die week en naweek se rugby uitslae:
1: Paul Roos het n woelige agterlyn, net jammer ons kon hulle nie sien op Moaans of Noord Suid teen werklike krag nie.
2: Paarl Gim – wow – slim wedstrydplan en basiese ‘toets’ rugby.
3: HJS Paarl – Ek dink nie ons besef hoe goed Welkom Gim dalk is nie, tog kon die telling heelwat groter gewee het.
4: Grey College – ek wag nog om te sien wat hulle na die tafel toe bring – daar is n paar spanne wat hul behoorlik gaan toets.
Great, so lekker om weer skolerugby te kon kyk. Geluk aan al die skole wat aan die wenkant was.
Hoogtepunt vir my was Paarl Gim teen Grey College. Harde rugby, baie goed gekondiosioneerde spelers met ‘n uitstekende Afrigtingspanne. Interessant dat in Grey se 4 verlore in die afgelope dekade was Gim die span wat dit twee keer kon regkry.
Paul Roos lyk ook na ‘n span wat nie gaan terugdeins. Dan kan jy die Blou gestreptes ook nie weggooi. Affies sal getoets word Dinsdag teen die Bulle van Oakdale.
