Very interesting article. At the recently completed Kearsney Festival some of the standout players were Leighton Eksteen, Selwyn Davids and Dewald Human. Martin van Wyk from EG Jansen was also mentioned a couple of times. These are all small players. It would be interesting to see if any one of these play S15 in 5 years time.
With the way we select teams in SA, I doubt it.
Got it here: http://www.sarugby.co.za/boksmart/pdf/BokSmart%202010-Age%20vs%20Weight%20Category%20Rugby.pdf
yep – me too – with an error message
@Rugger fan: I just get a blank page.
I keep getting an error when trying to access the report. Is there a trick?
@BOG: Yes. But I forgot. He’s bought some Verimark products lately, so for now he has been changed to Tjoppa again.
I’ve just had a close look at the Glenwood results for this weekend and I’m very distressed to see the many instances of Open (U19) teams playing against U16 teams, U15 playing U16 etc. This is totally against Boksmart Protocol and SARU age banding regulations. Who allowed these fixtures to take place??? In the case of U16 vs Open teams you could potentially have a player who is 15 years old playing against a player who is 19 years old. I would not like to have to stand up in front of a magistrate and explain why I allowed that to happen when the 15 year old is severely injured in a contact situation with a 19 year old. These regulations are there for a reason – they should not be ignored.
Beet, this “Tjobba”- is he the same person as “Tjoppa”, but just after he gained some weight?
