Super Rugby Superbru Round 1: College & Cheetahs lead

Maritzburg CollegeSlam grabbed the early lead for Maritzburg College while the Cheetahs are the franchise leaders in what was arguably the most boring start to Super Rugby ever – 2 games involving Australian sides. Despite his daily health struggles it’s good to see that former Bok scrumhalf Joost van der Westhuizen still has a sense of humour. He tweeted: “I believe the Bulls are playing their last warm up match next weekend against the Stormers, before the serious S15 games begin?” But you get the idea. Super Rugby unofficially starts this coming Friday and so the Vodacom Cup players are forgiven for their lack of interest show at this unimportant stage.

    @star: I must adjust my settings. That profile was set up years ago.

    @star: :lol: In my younger days I was known for wearing my brother’s rugby jersey as a mini-dress – he played hooker. It was rather amusing to see people’s expressions.
    @HORSEFLY NO.1: I can’t remember the name of the GW war cry leader this year but he was on form at the interhouse gala last year, especially after the rain sent the boys to the covered stands. He has introduced some new new war cries and has an incredible sense of humour.

    @GreenBlooded:
    Glenwood had a pretty good leader last year too. This year still to be seen.
    all war cries will be tested next week at the D and D swim gala though. Schools will be attempting to shout on top of each other. Will be awesome… AND NOISY!

    The coastal areas/provinces of SA are not known for producing the best rugby players and this, essentially being an invitation side, made up of players from those areas, we are se :lol: eing the results and confirmation of that.

    @HORSEFLY NO.1: I’ll be sure to look out for the super-fantastic warcry leader from DHS then. BTW – the Westville guy is also pretty good. Saw him at the Gala last Friday night (Ricky Hughes if memory serves). Absolute hoot – natural entertainer.

    @GreenBlooded:

    that can be a very long time especially in terms of war cry leaders. You just have to get it right or the school is screwed at home games

    Haha nope! And even if it was we’d still have the loudest and most spirited war cry in KZN!
    Nothing beats the DHS war cry once it gets going and word is that this years leader is as energetic and fantastic as the 2010 leader whom the boys still talk about to this day

    I see that C yndi has fired out of the blocks but I am not sure she will be happy with the position of hooker :lol: Hopefully the DHS and GW players at the foot of the table can step it up and add some value to the Sharks. Time will tell.

    I will once again defend my Vodacom Cup bubbling under status by stating the same as I did last season – The Super 15 is not won in February.
