Okay not quite Sunday rugby. This game will be played at Brug Street in Paarl just after midday on Saturday but it will be on DSTV Ch.319 as a delayed broadcast on Sunday at 17h00. Considering that the last TVPC live TV broadcast of the Boland Landbou versus Paarl Gim was disastrous as a result of most frames being frozen, this delay might be a blessing in disguise as it will give the producers a day to sort out any technical aspects that affect the quality.
The game itself will be a rematch of sorts. Bishops and HJS met in the pre-season 20-minutes-per-half, no kicking allowed game at Newlands. Bishops won on that occasion and although their regular season has been a relative success to date, Bishops are yet to knock over one of the top teams in 2014.

* at SA Schools trials – to be replaced
I watched this game on TV yesterday. That Brug Street field was a mud pit.
The HJS boys adapted very well to the situation and their ball-carrying over the advantage line was good. Either that or they they are just accustomed to playing a the field in such a poor condition. Bishops not so well. I thought the Bishops boys should have aimed their tackles much lower because they tended to slip off the usual upperbody challenges.
Well done boishaai with a very good win against Bishops.
@Toffee: Remember that Brugstraat has now been widend..so the Bishops backs will have more room…I think it will be a tough encounter for Boishaai…Bishops have a score to settle because the last time they played at Brug it was not a pretty score…and Bishops have a very good set of forwards…Not going to be an easy game
@BuffelsCM: I think they might be holding Klaas back for Interschools…He is vital at 8 for Boishaai when the going gets tough…they will only play him if really needed.
@Toffee: De Villiers is the primary source of possession in the line outs for Boishaai though. I assume Charl-Francois du Toit is still injured or is perhaps playing off the bench for Boishaai. IMO WP missed his physical presence at CW – real pity about the hamstring injury.
I hear what you are saying about Saud – he is used quite often…..it will be interesting to see Da Silva operating at no 8 !
Tristan is a younger brother and I believe he is an excellent prospect!
@Toffee: I wasn’t aware that he’s back. Lovely stuff. He’s a real ball player with excellent foot work.
I assume Tristan LLeyds is related to Dillan. Dillan has to be one of the most exciting talents I have seen for years and I am really happy that WP have recruited him back from the Western Force.
Both schools have a player at the trials but I think Bishops will miss their player more, he is involved in a lot of the moves and gets a lot of go forward. In view of the heavy rain we have had the field will be heavy going and will suite HJS more. I think the Paarl boys will win by a comfortable score and will dominate the set pieces and territory. Of all the W/Cape schools I have watched HJS have impressed the most and they are not lacking in team spirit and a fighting spirit when the going gets tough. They are a difficult team to beat, more so at home.
@Redblack White: True and what made it that much more frustrating is that I was told it was a really good game. Also most non- WC people don’t get to watch BL that often so a real letdown.
I also watched the DHS vs Kearsney game. James Hall’s try was also a powerpoint presentation. It seems like when the crowd gets too excited it effects the equipment.
But hats off to TVPC. They are trying hard and will hopefully get better. I would actually like to see them rather spend on better quality and show the games delayed with replays which are not currently available.
@Beet – I’m glad you cleared up the technical issues regarding ch 319. I watched (or tried to at least) the BL/PG game and thought that it was a powerpoint with live sound
