@Grasshopper: Ah , thank you Hopper. I think between GW, MC and PretBHS I sometimes get confused, but the 2nd team jersey explanation helps. Have a great week!

@Deon Pitzer: I am in our 2nd team jersey, known widely as chappies wrappers. I played 2nds at school so wanted that to be different. Greenblooded obviously has ties to both Glenwood and College, hence the jersey. Glenwood’s 1st team kit is all green, with gold numbers and collars…

@GreenBlooded: Tjaaaa boet, I am revising my krissmis card list, best you not take placebo’s or anything. You will be able to spot the lone College boy behind the southern posts. Mostly Glenwood supporters daarso, but chilled buggers, not like the okes under the covered stand who wanted to smite me last time I sat there.

@Deon Pitzer: Lets just say that I have commenced on a course of acute bipolar disorder medication to see me through to next weekend and the aftermath – where my loyalties will be tested to the hilt. And where I will have many detractors on both sides.

@GreenBlooded: Please explain your avatar? Is part of your jersey not MC? Why is Hopper’s jersey different from yours although you both seem to be GW?

IMO the North Durban trials were a bit disorganised, late start, insufficient chukkas for a fair reflection of all players and seemed a number of positions were preselected.

@GreenBlooded: Not always, in some cases there are injuries, like TT, but to omit them from trials is dof. My question is a little more pointed, kicking some wheels. Someone must have the original team lists, process of elimination, clarity, always a good thing.

Can anyone help out with the number of players invited to final trials that did not attend the first round, and have not yet played a game or had a practice with their new school teams.

@Amalekite: From the outside looking in it seems too many, but 8 of the are black players and added to that I believe there were several GW players injured on trials day. Also we need to take cognizance of who plays at the south trials. Sheppie and Port Natal are basically the only other schools there. All the other regions have top tier schools. The U16 selectors have hardly ever got it wrong. Lets trust them.

Some things just don’t change – 28 Glenwood players.

@umbiloburger: It also looks like it may be a challenge to get the quota balance right ?

There certainly are going to be some challenges selecting this team. Some overload of talent in certain position and a lack in others.
