@phat55: I am sure that he will send it to Beet today. He is a friend of mine and just sent me the provisional ranking to have a look at. He normally sends it to Beet, once finished. He does not publicise it elsewhere. What is your e-mail address?

Ja these tables only measure schools relevant to the games they play against other schools on their table.

In KZN it is significant because each year an award gets handed to the top school based on how they perform against the other top schools in KZN.

These tables above are therefore not overall rankings as they only take some of the games into account.

What I will update is the table on overall records, but again those are not rankings.

The new BHP rankings differs substantially from these as it takes into account games against teams from other regions and their perceived strengths.

I would recommend one also take into account their results against top opposition in other regions, as sometimes they schools don’t all play each other, but they might have a mutual competitor in another region.

In the Noordvaal region, things should not differ a lot from the following:
    Waterkloof
    EG Jansen
    Affies
    Garsies
    Monnas
    HTS Middelburg
    Kempton Park
    Nelspruit
    Menlo Park
    Jeppe
    KES
    Pretoria Boys High
    Transvalia
    Eldoraigne
    Centurion

    In the FS/NC
    Grey
    Cherries
    Noord-Kaap
    Jim Fouche
    HTS Louis Botha
    Voortrekker
    Diamantveld
    Fichardtpark
    Sentraal
    AHS Kroonstad
    Hentie Cilliers

Well on one of my previous posts I said that Waterkloof and EG Jansen seems to be the front runners in the Northvaal for 2014. Hopefully they will have the opportunity to meet each other in the Beeld trophy to determine nr 1

Interesting log – but I think CharlesZa has a point – perhaps a BHP ranking should also apply here – in KZN not all these teams play one another – (College don’t play St Charles and Port Natal) – on the BHP scale College would end up with only 3 match points for the NW game so far. If we use BHP that would put GW in the lead on 3,5 with Kearsney second on 3,15 and then College and House on 3 – Again, the different categories for these schools make the difference

BHP going to bring out ranking again? Reckon it will create quite a bit of chatter.

Beet – can you explain how games played are calculated?

Including the Stirling game, Dale’s played 6 games against EC opposition, 4 of which are Border schools. Selborne has played 5 (2 against Border schools)
