Net n ander ding. Dit moet nooit gebeur oor meer spanne nie. Hierdie is n rugby blog en ek support SBR. Wys net die rugby voor deel uit as dit kan gebeur. Daars duisende dinge belangriker wat ook tot voordeel kan wees.

Of dalk n beter idee is een van die voederskole in die Kaap? Spaar geld want beurse is nie meer nodig nie, en spreek die kritiek aan dat julle nooit in die Kaap speel nie.

Kom ek gee jou die vb van Hugenote Springs. Almal onthou daai skool toe dit net seuns was. Meisies was ook masjiene. Toe hulle saam smelt was dit onmiddelik afdraende. Jy gaan n paar verloor Wilgers en Kloof toe maar nie baie nie.Jy gaan weer seuns kry (en meisies) wat gaan oor kom agv wat jy nou voor hulle sit. Die potensiaal om iets spesiaal te word. Jy kan niks na Affies toe verloor nie want hulle is klaar daar. Maar jy kan self by Affies leerlinge by kry. So ook die room van die Suid skole.

Lang bome? 😂 EK bedoel maar net G se rugby is beter op die staduim en M se atlete van die beste in die land. As jy dit saam sit kan dit n scary kombinasie wees. Ek praat nie eers van die krieket en hokkie ens nie. Op daai gebiede is hulle klaar afsonderlik masjiene.

Lots of parents and educators believe that co-educational schools are the best educational option for high school, others believe single sex (monastic) schools preferable. Your proposal would make one helluva rugby school, but who knows how many rugby parents would simply then opt for e.g. Waterkloof or Wilgers and an unintended consequences could happen. The two schools in question are already highly efficient and successful educational institutions. I think it would be a bad idea to mess with their hard-earned successes across multiple areas, including academic, cultural, numerous other sports, and definitely also the developmental / social / community aspects; for the single benefit of a larger rugby programme with more teams. Your idea might be worthwhile in a different local context e.g. what they did at Vereeniging Gimnasium I think. But in that instance there were also numerous unintended or unforeseen consequences that threaten to sink a successful school. Which would be a tragedy. I’m also thinking of the tragedy of the old Sandown High School which, for the sake of a merge idea, was sunk to the point where they are no more than an “inner-city” school (their own words) with all of the implications of that term, i.e. under-resourced, unruly, under-performing, and in an inescapable downward vortex.

Hiers nie n thread vir die conversation nie so ek plaas maar hier. Ek wonder hoekom Garsfontein en Menlo nie saam smelt nie. Garsies se dogters gaan Menlo toe en Menlo se seuns Garsfontein. Dit word dan Menlo meisies Hoer en Garsfontein seuns Hoer. Garsfontein kry Menlo se atlete en Menlo kry Garsfontein se rugby spelers.Hulle sal dan top 3 rugby skool wees en sal nag wees op krieket en atletiek vlak vir ander skole. Die main ding sal wees die hoeveelheid spanne wat kan meeding rugby gewys. Dit kan interskole oop maak teen die res van die top 5.Ek wil nie uitbrei by die meisies nie met Menlo wat al klaar domineer by atletiek, hokkie en netbal. Sal nag wees om teen hulle te kompenteer. Beide skole is masjiene in eie reg maar soos tye verander maak dit vir my meer sin om saam te smelt.Sal laaik om ander se meenings te hoor. Imo nie n vergesog idee nie.

Selborne and Graeme strutting their stuff in dominant performances…Dale with an excellent results, impressive. Hudson solid, though I’m not sure how strong Port Rex was this year…
The Midlands Derby went down to the wire, final play, final movement… was that not a try Hilton scored? Eggchasers’ video clip shows it from front view and I’m sure some referees would have awarded that. Kearsney peaking late but that one hurts…St John’s let a big lead slip, kudos to St Stithians for the comeback. But missing that final penalty kick might haunt St John’s, especially as it was their last game and against their rivals. St Benedict’s will be thrilled with that win.
That St Benedicts score must be a record of some kind.
