LastMinuteDotCom Winelands XV would still crush it

With France u18 having withdrawn from the annual International Series, SARU is hard-pressed to reschedule fixtures for the event meant to kickoff on Monday 12 August 2024. As things stand they no longer have a need for the SA “A” team as the event fixture would work better with just the SA u18s, England, Ireland and Georgia.

So everyone is waiting with bated breath to see how the rearranged fixtures pan out.

But imagine inviting immediately available players from the Paarl Winelands schools of Boland Landbou, HJS Paarl Boys’ High and Paarl Gim to participate and bring the number of teams back to workable six. They could put together a very powerful team indeed!

Yeah as it stands the SA u18 coaches are potentially on a hiding to nothing again. The visiting teams arrive with more prep under the belt and now have an extra match to build cohesion.

Would not hurt the SA u18 main team to arrange a warm-up game on Monday.

Worcester Gim has an excellent u17 prop and very good wing.
Milnerton’s season is still in progress.
