What was the name of that schools rugby blog site where their top 20 was announced every week, purely on their qualitative subjective opinion and discussions…? I’m trying to recall…
I didn’t always agree eith them but it was fairly accurate over the years, give or take a few oversights.

Westville certainly close or in top 25 in my opinion…
I wonder if there is a way to calculate rankings based on an Elo system…like chess ratings, because all chess players can never play all others either, yet the system seems very accurate in determining definitive positions in a competitive pecking order.
But I have to give credit to the current rankings because they are at least attempting it, which I and everyone else wouldn’t have a clue how to do.

That first one was estimated ranking done by Beet based loosly on the formula.

I would say Glenwood at 40th is about right, should never have lost to Nico Malan. Westville are definitely in the Top 50, that’s a given…

This system has always been lopsided, BTW that’s another way of saying biased. There are always countless complaints and discrepancies…e.g. EG Jansen at this stage of the season at least in the 6-10 band…but OK, I don’t have a better system than this one.

For what its worth another ranking site has Glenwood at 38, Monnas at 20, Westville at 23, Jeppe at 9, HTS Middelburg at 62 and Middelburg at 49.

How does Jeppe drop to #24??? We have lost 3 games to only Top8 schools and beat Sir George Grey’s Bloemfontein school.

So nie top 50 bietjie n stretch.

    MIDDELBURG DERBY

Ek sien Middies het bietjie motivering materiaal. HTS 10 plekke hoër as MHS. Dit gaan ‘n grootte wees oor twee weke.

A very sad day for me, the Green Machine drop out of the top 50, probably first time in 25 years. Unlikely to beat Hilton so will drop further. I have no doubt they would beat many of the sides from 30 to 50 but don’t get that chance. From averaging about 8th in SA over a period of say 8 years to this, massive fall from grace…..:-(
