@Gimnasias: Leer die volgende 4 Ingelse woorde, “Make it a double”, dit werk altyd en dan het jy nie nodig vir die etc. aan die einde nie.

Twee spelers van Marlow en Jim Fouche onderskeidelik wat erkenning kry by Varsity Cup as spelers van die toernooi is vir my bemoedigend.

Ouens, ek wou nou lekker comment op jul posts maar ek bly in ATKV wereld in Hartenbos. Ek ken so 2 engelse woorde en dan gooi ek “etc” dan is my paragraaf vol. Al wat ek sê is dis nog vroeg. Paar opskuddings. Maar wat ek wel weet is dat Grey, Garsies en Kwaggas tans voorlopers is. En pasop vir Boland Landbou. My Gimspan gaan n paar houe vat vanjaar, so ook Boishaai. Ek sien uit na Wildeklawer.

@Kaya 85: Agreed. I think Hilton are in for some local pain as well….House might just do the double on them, and I can see DHS, College, Glenwood and maybe even Kearsney rolling them over this year.

@Jakkals: agreed, Hilton’s match ups not nearly as difficult as e.g.Stellenberg … Hilton are Top 10 …. in KZN, but in truth they would be lucky to crack a Top 30 in a real SA ranking

Monnas & Hilton NOT top 10 at the moment. I’d replace them with Jeppe & DHS.

Also think Stellenberg, Martitzburg & Welkom Gim
    Need to be higher.

@OUD ANKER: They seem a bit inconsistent to me. They beat a good team the one weekend and then the next weekend they lose or play bad against a much weaker team. But let’s see how the next few weeks play out.

@sharpshooter: You can rate the soutie schools in how they beat Monument and how they give Grey (Maritzburg) and Affies (DHS) hell of a games.

@sharpshooter: I will put Jeppe and Maritzburg in lieu of Hilton/Noordheuwel and Monument in the top 10.

@OUD ANKER: To be honest, it is always hard for me to rate the English schools because when they play against each other, you can never say who’s gonna win 😂

@OUD ANKER: It seems that anyone can beat anyone this year! Jeppe did beat Monnas yes, but I don’t think they are better. Who would you take out of the top 10 to put in these 2?

@sharpshooter: I’ll have both Maritzburg and Jeppe top 10 as it stands today. Jeppe just beat Monnas and Maritzburg gave Grey one hell of a game during North/South. Just my opinion.

@OUD ANKER: I’m taking nothing away from them, but I do not think they deserve top 10 at the moment. I think if I went further on until 15, then all of them would have been there. However, the cape soutie schools are not impressing me thus far. Wynberg the only one with some decent results among the cape soutie schools. Jeppe, KES and DHS very close to top 10.

@sharpshooter: Guys you tend to overlook the soutie schools, Jeppe, Kes, Bishops, Rondebosch, DHS, Maritzburg, Wynberg. You have Hilton at 10, but let’s not become “rugby snobs” of punting only the traditional old Afrikaans schools. Maritzburg, Jeppe and DHS in my opinion somewhere top 10 on current form.

I don’t think Monnas deserve a Top 10 at this stage

@sharpshooter: I think your top 5 is spot on ,at ten I would make it a threeway tie with Kloof also in the mix…

My rankings: this is my personal opinion based on what I saw in the games not mathematical calculations or results against certain teams.

    1: Grey college
    2:Kwaggas
3: Garsies (I feel Garsies and Kwaggas will be a very good game, both on more or less the same level)
4: Boland Landbou ( Really a good side, hopefully they can keep the intensity throughout the whole year)
5: Paarl Gim (They seem to get results even though they have not yet found their rhythm)
6: Monnas ( They’re also a very good side but looks like their inconsistency will yet again be their downfall)
7: HJS ( let’s face it, they will find form and probably end in the top 5, pity they are not playing kwaggas)
    8: Affies
    9: Paul Roos
    10: Hilton/Noordheuwel

I know, everyone’s rankings differs but this how I feel currently. Will obviously change through the course of the year. 10th is very much open in my opinion, Noordheuwel and Hilton are very close to each other.
