Things didn’t go according to plan for the KZN Academy team on Day 1 in Wellington. They went down 34-19 to South Western Districts, this after being just 14-15 behind at the halftime break. It seems like disciple was a major cause for concern with no fewer than three yellow cards being issued to KZN players during the match.
Nevertheless a handful of players managed to impress on the day. They were Michael Downer, Chris de Beer, Sebastian Negri, Ayron Schramm, Thabo Ngcongo, Ricki Bamber, Brad Ellse and Unathi Mkasi.
Their next game is against the hosts Boland.
The KZN CD team recorded a convincing 53-10 win against the Leopards CD. Their Day 2 opponents are the Griffons.
