Maritzburg College has named a team of 1st XV hopefuls combined with last year’s players to take on the hosts at the Voortrekker Night Series in Pietermaritzburg on Friday, 27 February. With numerous players either unavailable due to summer sports commitments or injury, College’s first outing of 2015 will be a chance for the new coaching staff to try out a few positional ideas as well as for fringe players to make an early impression.

On Friday 06 March, College will field two teams, each one consisting of a mix of 1st and 2nd players. Their opponents will be a Westville 2nd XV and Voortrekker.

I also hear the Wartburg Rugby Series is off this year (or at least College is not participating)? Any confirmations on that?
Any results? And who are the other teams involved?
I think the Westville 2nds/3rds will now be playing Treverton and the College side Voortrekker Firsts.
