Very few indeed, and going by present and past performances of the “selectors”, even fewer will become Springboks in the future

Would hazard a guess that’s because kids development really takes off after the age of 16.
You get your odd boy who matures quicker than others but for the majority its from the ages of 16 and up that muscle development etc really happens.
Schools have started to realise this and hence the increase in poaching from the Std 8(think its grade 10) and up.
Wont mention any schools by name but we all know one that sticks out.

@ all: another interesting stat would be to see which SA Schools players ended up playing baby boks in the last three years. Well done to all the invited guys, good luck boys.

    Very interesting stats Beet.

No replacement for hard work, effort and obviously the physical and emotional development of the boy.

Guys tend to enter a comfort zone after reaching milestone……

    @ Beet. Very intersting.

I would hazzard a guess that of the 55 players chosen for this weekend, the same % as mentioned above will eventually play SA U/20. Scary stats!

Just goes to prove that making a side is no guarantee of future success and that new/ unknown players always come through to be included in teams.
