    @Buffel: Who are the replacements

    This morning when the buses departed for Vryheid it looked like a war zone. Limping, crutches and no shows. Really feel for the likes of Dixon who could miss the whole thing with a really bad sprain, happening during warm up for the MHS game.
    The replacements are ready and with the depth, should be up for the Pumas tomorrow.

    @burra: Thanks Burra. Nice summary

    @Grasshopper: :-D You must have made that prediction in the lead up to the first SCC vs Clifton meeting on 26-Apr when SCC won 36-15 in Pmb.

    Hats off to Clifton for being able to turn things around like this. The SCC season started off brightly incl a lost by just 1 point to Hilton and just 34-0 vs Paarl Boys High but they really have struggled to perform down in Durban.

    The Clifton vs St Charles game was very close I thought SCC will take it but CC had other plans. Halftime score was 5-3 to SCC. Clifton then came back in the second half with a try of their own to make it 10-5 and later earned a penalty putting them 13-5 (FT) score. Clifton defence was on point on the day but were to slow at the breakdown which let them down, most of their balls were stolen in the breakdown but their good defence kept them in the game until final whistle.

    Special mention to the workrate of Clifton no.7 he produce a clinical performance today, my man of the match.

    Tredoux slipped on the stairs and sprained his ankle. He was in crutches before the game. Morne (fullback) also didn’t play. Score was 50-7 at half time. Glenwood took their foot off the pedal in the second half and let through some ties, but still managed two more tries. The other prop Kenny Van Niekerk was red carded so Glenwood played for part of the second half with 14 men. Viva GREEN MACHINE!

    @seabass: None taken. My irritation actually stems from the games that are televised and they call us PMB College. I actually spoke to them and they claimed that Maritzburg College is too long for the banner line, so I said just make it “College”, they declined. Philistines!

    @Gungets Tuft: didn’t mean to offend… Must say for me there is only one “college” and that’s maritzburg college. We like to be known as Clifton school with reference to us being a school from grade r to grade 12. Called westville the “the ville” cos I am the mayor and was also mr ville in 1990 :wink:

    @Johan Beyers: we play George Campbell, DHS, Kearsney, Hilton, St Charles, Port Natal etc but not the 3 big government schools Wood, PMB and the Ville. ( don’t have enough teams either ) so to answer your question, no we play tier 1 mainly

    @Speartackle: @umbiloburger: @beet: Glenwood u16A drew with Westville and College, which is why I said that they’ll come second to the winner between College and Westville. However, as Beet points out, Westville u16A lost to DHS…so that rules them out. So, if College beat Westville then they will be number 1 and Glenwood number 2.

    As umbilo points out, Glenwood have a return fixture against College; however, I’ve been told by KZN bloggers that only the first game between Glenwood and College counts for the Natal schools trophy. As such, victory in the second would provide Glenwood with bragging rights…but not the cup. :lol:

    To be honest, the Natal schools in this age group are weaker than in other age groups, as Glenwood lost by about 40 to Monnas u16A and Kearsney lost by about 60 to Jeppe u16A. How did College u16A do at Wildeklawer? Where can I find the results of all the u16 games at Wildeklawer?

    @Vleis: Sorry Vleis but I cannot agree. What I will concede is that those three teams are the top 3. GW play College in term 3 which will be a great contest, provided both teams are at full strength and I believe that will be the decider. GW have had an awful season as far as injuries go. They have suffered over 8 concussions this year and the break is going to do them the world of good.

    Lets hope that no more injuries affect the MC or GW teams at GK as both schools have huge matches in the 3rd term.

    @Vleis: Against who did Glenwood’s u/16’s lose to?

    I saw PMB College u/16’s against Monnas at WK and they were impressive for the first 20 minutes. Looked a bit unfit though. Maybe they’ve improved on their fitness since then.

    For College – interesting to see Goodie move to the flank and Stuart at No. 8.

    There is also an error – Matt Kriel is listed at 12 and 15. I presume Jordan Koekemoer will stay at 12??
