K-DAY! Kingswood vs St Andrew’s

Two of the finest private schools in South Africa go head to head on Saturday 14 June 2014 in Grahamstown. Kingswood College (founded in 1894) takes on St Andrew’s College (founded in 1855) in one of the biggest and the oldest derbies in schoolboy rugby in South Africa. The event is known as K-Day and making it unique is that it is so much more than just a game of rugby, it’s a huge item on the Grahamstown calendar. Thousands of visitors descend on the student town with a population of only about 80 000 to be part of the festivities and share in the amazing vibe.

@kcman: @Wyvern: A very happy KDay to the KC and SAC families. All the best to all the teams in all the sporting and cultural codes. May the best snob win.

Rooting for KC this year. I think they’re in with a chance.

Would be good to have this on TV, also the Hilton vs Michaelhouse derby which is of a similar ilk.

Here is to wishing my son and his mates of many years all of the best. We know that the odds are always stacked against us but can assure you that this side will leave it all out on the field and will give everything to the cause in the 70 mins on Saturday.

Good luck KC!!! We do believe.

@Playa: I can only hope and dream that that’s the case

I just hope the boys can play a full 70 min on sat and not let it slip in the last 15!

@Wyvern: @CHS08: Tough year indeed for Jho. I hope and pray that his professional career will no be affected in any way by these injuries. If so, I have all the faith in the world that KC will be able to shape him for a career outside of rugby.

Wyvern – reckon this is SAC’s last KDay victory for at least a couple of years?

@CHS08: It’s been unfortunate that we’ve hardly seen Jho play this season, I just hope he comes right if he does go on to play for the Kings etc.

Somila Jho is injury prone. Beautiful campuses St Andrews and KingWood have. The 2 best in the Eastern Cape in my opinion.
