Walvis Bay Private School – Desert Sports Festival 2026

Walvis Bay Private School are looking for teams to be part of their Desert Sports Festival 2026.

Walvis Bay Private School will be hosting their annual INDONGO Toyota Desert Sports Festival from the 30th of March to the 4th of April 2026. They would like to invite your school to this amazing week of sport , activities and Namibian hospitality.

What is the main purpose of the festival?

  • To promote and develop the sports of rugby, hockey, and netball.

  • To showcase true Namibian warmth and hospitality.

  • To foster strong relationships and nurture good sportsmanship among players, coaches, and parents alike.

The festival will take place over three thrilling days, kicking off on Tuesday, 31 March, and concluding on Saturday, 4 April 2026. Once again, teams will compete across Rugby (U19), Hockey (U19), and Netball (U17 and U19) divisions.

All our fields are equipped with floodlights, allowing for extended play and an electric atmosphere well into the evenings.

A Team of the Tournament will be selected, earning the exciting opportunity to go on tour at the end of 2026.

On rest days, participants can look forward to unforgettable adventures — including catamaran cruises on our beautiful lagoon and quad biking through the dunes, both part of the festival experience.

For the more daring visitors, dune boarding and dune gliding await!

And just 30 km away lies Swakopmund, bursting with activities, excellent restaurants, and some of the best offshore fishing in the world — the perfect way to round off an unforgettable Namibian sporting experience.
