Cape Town Co-ed Milnerton are enjoying an incredible school rugby year.
Just beating Rondebosch (34-33) and Bishops (31-28) on its own is a special feat in 2024 but to do it away from home on the famous Tinkie Heyns and the Piley Rees Fields and to achieve it via lost cause, come from behind positions to record these two epic wins, makes them arguably the biggest surprise package story of 2024.
Now the wolf pack has the chance to record a Wynberg-like Triple Crown by adding SACS to their list of giant-killings. The match will be played on the Memorial A-field at SACS on 18 May 2024.
Millies by their own admission are don’t have the budget of the big schools but feel that they score high points on nurturing talent and dedicating time to overall character development, are feeding off a very positive spirit at the high school in general and this is rubbing off on the u19A team for sure.

But Sacs pack mauled Wynberg to pieces last Saturday?
Brought back to earth with a huge thump, their victories vs Bosch & Bishops, were more from Bosch being arrogant being 30 points up & a moment of madness from the Bishops scrummie. They have had agreat season but what is evident is that as soon as they come up against a team that play a structured gameplan, they struggle. They much prefer an open running game where they can throw the ball around. Sacs proved this theory when they scored a lineout maul try from 35 meters out & the Sacs forwards aren’t exatly their strength. If they had to play Berg, they would struggle even more as Berg have a big pack & prefer a far more narrow & structured gameplan than Sacs which would be a big stumbling block for Milnerton.
If Milnerton can beat SACS then they should try play Wynberg, would be nice
