Brighter prospects await SACS in 2024

March 2024

An increased focus on rugby structures and grade-8 recruitment should begin to paid dividends for South African College High School (SACS) in a few years time.

For 2024 they will field a pretty decent looking looking team.
The first regular season match is against Durbanville at the Wynberg Festival. This match-up has been quite a close affair in recent years. However with the quality of the squad they have at their disposal, the Young Ikeys should handle this year’s game with a degree of comfort in the scoreline.

Tighthead Ikhona Maxegwana is a Craven Week 2023 player. No.8 Connor King offers the promise of being a strong ball-runner. Scrumhalf and captain livewire Seth Bradford is one exciting to watch halves who is set to be one of the top players in his position nationally. Fullback Jack Benade is not far behind in the thrill-factor and his speed and determination are bound to impress viewers and spectators alike. There are other useful returning players in the team to assist with high quality play.

All-in-all it should be a better season of SACS with better fortunes in the all-important Cape Town Southern Suburb derbies.

I agree I think SACS will put up a good fight this year. There’s been a steady improvement in recent years for their age-groups and it should result in a decent First XV this year.

    Good luck to them!
