In the saddest news of the Craven Week selections to date, Jeppe captain Exauce Kevani, who has been one of the stars of the season in a decent Jeppe team, has missed out on Craven Week selection. To make matters worse the player with Congolese roots has been picked for the Academy Week team at inside centre instead of his preferred position of outside centre where he has been so destructive this season.
Another big bad news blow is that hot property fullback Joey Schambreel of Monument has been ruled out with injury.
Apart from this omissions, it looks like a really good Lions Craven Week squad and will be heading to George with realistic chances of winning Craven Week.

@beet: Will you please place the Puma CW & AW teams as well?
@Roger: Thanks Roger. Some people are going to think I have it in for Bryce as this was the second time I got his school wrong. Fixed now.
@Kaya 85: Always a great honour regardless of what team you play in, I am of the opinion that Kevani will make a very good 12 in senior rugby if he chooses to go that path. Interesting that of the 5 Jeppe boys in the AW team, 3 were in the AW team last year while there is a further boy who was in the AW team in 2022 and wasn’t selected for either either of the teams this year despite being u18 and fit.
Isn’t Bryce Samuel the Jeppe scrum half ? and I don’t think number 21 for the AW team is a KES boy either ?
@warriors7: but even his Jeppe teammate is keeping him out the CW team…if selectors were willing to play him out of position for the AW team, why not for the CW team…
I haven’t seen vd Linden play. He must be a great player to keep Kevani out the side.
Kevani playing Academy week is just as big an honour, still representing Lions Provincial Union, and hundreds of other first team players would give anything to be in that position.
