Constructing the SARU u16 squad for 2016

Over the past few seasons SARU has moved away from issuing complete national age group rugby squad lists and resorted to providing each of the individual rugby unions with just the names of players from their respective regions who have been invited to attend training camps.

So anyone wanting to access the full list either has to work for SARU , have a contact in SARU or be willing to do a lot of homework to acquire a complete list of names.

Anyway to get the ball rolling for anyone wanting to participate with building the list to a more complete state, here are the names of the Bulls players invited to attend:

Name School Union
Janco Uys Affies Bulls
Dewald Donald Affies Bulls
Regard Roets Affies Bulls
Diego Apollis Garsfontein Bulls
Juan Sabbat Garsfontein Bulls
Jeandre Scheepers Garsfontein Bulls
Marcelle Mombers Menlopark Bulls
Bernard Van der Linde Menlopark Bulls
Khanya Jada Pretoria BH Bulls
Tapiwanashe Katete St Alban’s Bulls

@Playa…those in the know believe it to be the stomping ground for who will actually show clear potential to make it as a professional rugby player. I might be wrong.

@Stier…money well spent, however why not just invest in the current senior players who keeps finding an excuse to go play abroad.
Then again a player contracted to any of the clubs abroad, should not have a bok contract, and play for free if available for test, or not be eligible for selection.
These unnecessary contracts is depletion of funds, with little or no benefits.
Our decision makers need to seriously reconsider administration of funds. The exorbitant amounts on school kids is simply not justifying the objective.

Just another stupid SARU idea, this will not help SA rugby one little bit except to waste money. Why don’t they rather spend their money on coaching the top school coaches in our country, then manny more schoolboys can get better coaching not just a chosen few?

Who posted invatations and based on what performance / criteria?
It just seems like the system is faulting players, because when one backtrack to GK selection player performance there etc. One would expect to see the performers listed above. Which is why I ask, does our system carry any water?
