    @TW BOSS: Huidiglik sit Monnas met groot probleem op senters. MJ en Bakkies verdien baie krediet dat hul op die vlak bereid is om Monnas te help. As hul gaan ‘click’ kan dit n baie goeie kombinasie wees, hulle het als wat nodig is. Al 4 ander senters wat op 1ste span vlak moontlik kan speel is beseer. Verstaan Ula kan dalk terug wees later in die jaar.

    @Greenman: no sarcasm intended. Congratulations to Glenwood.
    Note: where applicable, I direct sarcasm at statements or events – not just in general. I have no qualm with Glenwood – let’s play first ?

    @LAEVELDER: Jou punte vir Nellies is korrek. Hulle het nie die Kempton Park wedstryd van 16 April bygetel nie, en dit was net ‘n foutjie.

    Ons punte moet dus 2.48 wees, maar ek sien almal se punte word met .10 minder gewys op die log hierdbo, dus 2.38. Whoopie!! :lol:

    With the vertically challenged and horizontally enhanced “minister” of sports recent announcement, “transformation” seems to be the buzz word. Read the article by Ashwin Desai in the RDM- “Mbalula: Hypocrite hides governments failings” He makes a very valid observation. If there is no infrastructure and no nutrition in the schools, transformation is MEANINGLESS. And both are areas where they have failed totally. http://www.rdm.co.za/sport/2016/05/03/fikile-mbalula-hypocrite-who-hides-government-s-failings

    @Vleis:
    Jipp.. also believe it is better than the others when one take the year to date into account… but will always be a bit slow to re-act to certain spikes up or down. Lets say a team is slow out of the blocks and then gets into gear half way through the season wins five or six in a row at the end of the season. Some ranking systems will favor such performance but this one lean on the law of averages for year to date. Nellies won the last string of games and the Beeld after a slow start in 2014 and ended up 15th on BHP.. same with Garsies last year.. also Beeld champs but ended 23 rd on BHP. Both sides ended close or in top 10 on the other rankings

    @Losbal: Ons ouderdom groepe het bietjie gesukkel by WK die week. Jong die manne betrokke werk hard om die talent in die area te hou. Ons het ook reggekry om meer diepte te he. Die naweek speel al 16 spanne teen Paul Roos. 4 rugby velde vol wedstryde die saterdag gaan great wees.

    I’ll be stoked with a top 10 finish for Glenwood. Our 835kg pack have a chance vs Affies, Grey Bloem and Monnas. Win two of those and we should be top 5.

    @LAEVELDER: If memory serves, the main problem with BHP’s system is his categorisation of schools:
    1. He should revisit this in general, as some schools are too low and others too high – e.g. Milnerton & Port Natal are are in 3, but would lose by about 70 points to Saints, Bennies, Parktown, etc who are in 2. Indeed, PN lost to Fourways, who lost by 65 to Parktown. Therefore, your win over St John’s (which was not exactly a hiding) does not get the points that it deserves as St J is only in cat 2.
    2. It does not adequately reflect the current year’s performance of the team – e.g. Affies in every year is a 5, but in 2014 should’ve been a 3 or 4. Therefore, any team beating Affies in 2014 hit the jackpot. I think that BHP has tried to partially remedy this problem?
    3. There is too much of a jump for a vicoptry (or loss 8-O ) over a cat 2 to a cat 5 team. I think that BHP should use a 10 level cat system, so the gap narrows a little.

    BHP may have changed his system since I last looked at it a few years ago. In any event, as Grassy says, no system is perfect and BHP’s certainly better than most (if not all) of the others.

    Stem saam met Bog en Grasshopper kom ons kyk maar in Augustus.
    Affies, Boishaai, Paarl Gim, Grey Bloem & Paul Roos verseker top 5 op die stadium , daar sal altyd n upset hier en daar wees op die dag Garsies vs Paarl Gim :-D . Glenwood is nie slegte span maar gaan nog tuis getoets word :wink:
    Great rugby sover gesien en glo daar sal nog great games wees.
    @Andre T : Sal daarvan hou as oom Hans vir MJ en Bakkies terug kan sit by forwards en wil niks weg vat van jul 9&10 , maar mis vir Uhla en Xander.

    It’s a radar, temperature check, indication….not an exact science, far too many factors. Let BHP do his thing and then look at the rankings end of August, those will be pretty spot on. Lot’s more games to play so there will be plenty of shirting and jostling about. Affies, Boishaai, Paarl Gim, Grey Bloem & Paul Roos will still be near the top. Cream always rises to the top. Glenwood will be knocking on the top 5 door in my opinion….

    I have never been a fan of rankings, they are nice to look at but they can be very subjective based in their ways. For example how can Selborne be ranked 8, when they have lost 2 games and drawn 2, all against teams ‘ranked’ lower them. They have a 60% win ratio. I know its a lot of work for BHP, so dont want to degrade anything, i’m just having my daily gripe since I can’t take it out elsewhere

    BHP het n breek gevat en vir my gevra om julle strontvrae te beantwoord. Wag tot Augustus en wag vir die skole om hulle programme te voltooi. As julle egos teen daardie tyd nog nie versadig is nie, too bad.Intussen, geniet die rugby. As die onwaarskynlike gebeur eerskomende Saterdag en GCB verloor teen Affies met 10 of minder, dan beteken dit dat hulle doodeenvoudig vir Boishaai die volgende Saterdag met 20 of meer moet wen., wat hulle dan bo-aan die rankings sal plaas. Maklik en eenvoudig.

    @BoishaaiPa:
    Die 5 punte verloor reel is buitendien nie ingereken.. ons het met 6 teen Boishaai verloor maar behoort nogsteeds 20 punte te he na 8 wat uitwerk op 2.5 average (Rust 3, Florida 3, St.Johns 2 , Affies 0, Boishaai 0 , Pietersb 3, Kempton 4 en EG 5) .. tel op na 20 in 8 games ..wat 2.5 average (nie 2.29) .. nevermind 2.5 en 2.29 is ewe bad al beteken dit ons sal klim van 30 na 27. As PHS en Rustenburg se kategorie punte so hoog was as spanne soos Menlo en Eldo’s wat hul al gewen het dan was ons average 24/8=3 was ons onder die top 15 sal invat (wat tans redelik realisties is ipv 30ste)..

    @Andre T: So Andre wat jy dan sê is dat ons julle ver gaan moet wen om enigsins op te skuif op hierdie ‘log’?

    Daar is seker ‘n 50% kans vir Nellies om Monnas te wen, maar soos ek reeds gesê het dis onwaarskynlik.

    Hoewel Monnas gister 40 punte teen hulle gekry het, het hulle tog 25 punte aangeteken. Wat van die verskil?

    Eintlik wil ek glad nie na die log kyk nie, want dit dra nie regtig soveel waarde nie. Dis maar net ‘n rowwe aanduiding van prestasies, en jaag gemoerdere op.

    Ag regtig? Ons wen EG Jansen, Pietersburg wen Menlo Park, wat nie eers op die ‘log’ is nie. Ons en Pietersburg verloor beide twee wedstryde, terwyl ons verloor het teen 1 en 2 wat op die ‘log’ verskyn. Pietersburg het teen ons verloor.

    Hoe is dit moontlik dat Pietersburg 5 posisies bo ons kan lê, plus ons het een ‘wen wedstryd’ meer as hulle? Wys die berekening ek sal dit bitter graag wil sien?
