SANIX 2014 : Paarl Boys High finish in second place

Boishaai has lost in the final of the annual Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament in Japan. They have won their five matches in a row, averaging a score of 53 points per game in the process. Their opponents in the final Hamilton Boys’ High of New Zealand has averaged 43 points per game on their road to the final. Apart from the finalists, most teams in this tournament would struggle to win a game against a lower tier 1st XV at the Tony Stoops or Oakdale Rugby Festivals because they are so weak. Sanix is a great concept and a tour of Japan will be a once in a lifetime unforgetable experience for most players but as far as high quality opposition is concerned, this 2014 tournament is fooling no one.

Hard luck Paarl. You can be very proud of your performances and so can your school and your country!

By the way, Hamilton Boys has 2,300 pupils 8-O 8-O . That is nearly triple the size of HJS Paarl. If HJS Paarl, Gimmies and Landbou put a team together (which is still much smaller than Hamilton 8-O ) they would annihilate the kiwi team!

star, not sure and don’t really care. Our surfers are those who want to compete, the majority of the hard core guys hate comps so never compete. It’s true for most schools, so it’s about getting the best prepared to surf comps.

They came back on Monday,21 April from St John`s where the played 3 games. Quite a schedule. I have it on good authority that the injuries are minor- the guys who were rested all played for a short go today, except Stefan. Not sure about him and Paul De Wet

Quite a few of the regular players for Boishaai have not yet played – Klaas du Toit, Carel van Zyl and Stefan Gouws as well as Quintin Vorster come to mind. All of them were in the starting team for every St John`s game. Does someone know why not? More injuries than Paul De Wet`s thumb?

@Djou: Ons hoor maar so stuk stuk nuus.
