So much talent in Western Province

In response to the Paarl XV, I had a bash at creating a rival team to take them on. Again the criteria is boys turning 18 in this calendar year of 2023.

Unfortunately the Paul Roos guys are very tight-lipped about their standout players ahead of 2023. They basically fielded a matric team in 2022, so there are will probably be the least capped 1st XV in WP starting the 2023 season and by the sounds of things, possibly the most capped 1st XV in the Cape come 2024. Anyways Paul Roos supporters forgive me for not including a single player. Please get in touch with me if you can. Apologies to all the expected standouts who were omitted below and are bound to talking point players in 2023.

@Running_Rugby1861: Yeah I agree. I would have loved to have included Nic Allison. He was decent in 2022.

I really enjoyed watching the Bishops backline in action last year when they got good frontfoot ball. I think they will have a good line again this year.

I think the Bishops player I an most excited about is Aiden Norris. I believe he will move from second row to no.8 this year

Nic Allison was Bishops standout in an injury hit back line last year.

Skipper and headboy for 2023. A Center of attention he will be once again.

That’s a decent team. That center combo is going to be a menace this year. Would pick Pietie Erasmus & Ruan Viviers at lock, AJ vd Merwe at 8. But let’s agree on that later 😉
